Mario Chalmers is officially back in Lawrence. The former Kansas star and 2008 national champion announced this week that he’s been readmitted to the University of Kansas and is returning to finish the college degree he put on pause nearly two decades ago

“I finally did something I’ve been putting off since ’08,” Chalmers wrote on Instagram. “Momma ain’t raise no quitter, so let me run it back and get my degree.”

The post included a screenshot of his readmission letter from KU welcoming him back to the Jayhawk family. Fans immediately flooded the comments, celebrating the return of one of the most clutch players in program history.

Chalmers, of course, is forever remembered for his legendary game-tying three in the final seconds of the 2008 national championship game, a shot that helped send Kansas to overtime and eventually to a title.

Now, he’s back on campus with a different goal, walking across the graduation stage.

“PS… NCAA, can I get my senior year back too?” Chalmers joked.

One more run in Lawrence. This time to finish his degree.
