

The University of Kansas began Phase 2 of the renovation of David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium and the Gateway District project in December. Construction crews began the demolition project on the east side of the David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium on Monday, December 15th.
Athletics Director Travis Goff and Kansas Athletics shared videos of the demolition on social media.

The Kansas football program will play the 2026 season with a limited capacity at the renovated stadium. This season, the Jayhawks played in the half-renovated stadium, with the west and north end zones completed under Phase 1 of the project.
Kansas football is set to host six home games next season, with the first matchup coming against the LIU Sharks on Sept. 5, 2026.
