Utah's dominant rebounder Keanu Dawes visits Kansas, bringing proven scoring and frontcourt presence to the Jayhawks' transfer portal search.

Utah Transfer Keanu Dawes Set To Visit Kansas

Keanu Dawes is set to visit the Kansas Jayhawks, as KU continues to evaluate options in the transfer portal. The visit was first reported by JayhawkSlant, with additional reporting from Michael Swain, Shreyas Laddha, and Mike Vernon. Dawes’ agent, Brandon Grier, also confirmed the trip.

The Utah Utes forward is coming off a highly productive 2025–26 campaign, where he started all 32 games and emerged as one of the team’s most reliable frontcourt pieces. Dawes averaged 12.5 points, a team-best 8.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game while maintaining strong efficiency, shooting 68.2% from inside the arc and 31.7% from three-point range. His rebounding numbers ranked among the best in the Big 12, highlighting his physical presence and consistency on the glass.

Dawes also showed flashes of high-level production throughout the season. He recorded seven double-doubles and delivered one of his best performances inside Allen Fieldhouse, finishing with 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting along with 12 rebounds against Kansas. He later posted a season-high 23 points in a road matchup at BYU, further demonstrating his ability to produce in big moments.

According to 247Sports, Dawes is ranked as the No. 49 overall transfer in the portal and the No. 12 power forward available, making him one of the more coveted frontcourt options still on the market. With one season of eligibility remaining, he presents an experienced, plug-and-play option for programs looking to add immediate production.

Before his time at Utah, Dawes began his collegiate career with the Rice Owls, where he started 23 games as a freshman. After transferring to Utah, he developed from a rotational piece into a full-time starter and key contributor.

As Kansas continues to reshape its roster this offseason, Dawes’ visit to Lawrence represents a significant opportunity for the staff to add a proven rebounder and efficient scorer to the frontcourt.

Top Transfer Guard Terrence Hill Jr. Visits Kansas

Kansas got its shot at one of the top guards in the transfer portal Monday, hosting VCU standout Terrence Hill Jr. for an official visit.

Hill, a 6-foot-3 guard, is coming off a breakout sophomore season where he led VCU in scoring with 15.0 points per game, adding 2.8 assists and 2.7 rebounds. He shot an efficient 46.6% from the field and 37.0% from three, giving Kansas a potential boost from beyond the arc.

Despite coming off the bench, Hill earned Atlantic 10 First Team honors, along with Most Improved Player and Sixth Man of the Year. He played a key role in VCU’s NCAA Tournament run, highlighted by a 34-point performance with seven threes in an upset win over North Carolina.

Ranked as the No. 17 overall transfer and No. 6 point guard by 247Sports, Hill has two years of eligibility remaining.

Kansas is firmly in the mix as the Jayhawks look to add proven scoring and shooting to their backcourt.
