The LSU Tigers landed a commitment from three-star offensive tackle Amaziah Siale on Monday afternoon.
Another day, another recruiting win for Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers as they secured a flip from 2027 offensive tackle Amaziah Siale on Monday afternoon per Rivals' Greg Biggins. Siale was previously committed to the California Golden Bears.
Siale is a three-star on the 247Sports composite rankings. They have him as the No. 515 recruit in the country, the No. 48 offensive tackle and the No. 39 player out of California.
That may not make for a splashy commit on paper, but it doesn't take much thinking to see what the Tigers made him such a priority that they got him to flip a commitment. The Mission Viejo tackle is listed at 6-foot-6, 360 pounds as a high schooler. That is an absurd frame to work with, and could make for a beast of a tackle.
He'll certainly be a raw talent, but there is a great starting point for the LSU coaching staff. At worst, he'll be solid depth throughout his Tigers career. At best, he can anchor a side of the line.
This will be a good test for new LSU offensive line coach Eric Wolford, who fans were tepid with when he was first hired. The past Tigers staff were hit-and-miss when it came to developing talent, so hopefully Wolford can find a bit more consistency. This will be one of his first true tests.
Siale now becomes the first offensive line recruit and the ninth overall commit in LSU's 2027 class, which is starting to add the "quantity" to match their "quality" at the top. They're currently ranked No. 49 overall, but with two five-stars already that will likely soar up as they add more players.
