A mix of 14 LSU Tigers players and commits on the top 250 MLB draft big board.

The LSU Tigers baseball coaches are going to be watching next weekend's MLB draft very closely, as it will have major ramifications on next season's roster.

While the Tigers already have an elite offense in place for next season and seem better equipped to build through the transfer portal than before, LSU still needs high school athletes.

Jay Johnson is an elite recruiter and has been able to lure some great talents away from the draft and onto the college campus, Derek Curiel being one recent example. He has a fantastic recruiting class ready to develop, but the draft could take away some of their best talent.

NIL has made it to where top colleges can lure players away from the pros more often, but it is still difficult. Anyone who could be taken in the first four rounds is definitely at high risk of leaving, but it's not certain.

MLB recently put out its top 250-player big board for the draft (a little under half the total picks in the draft). In it, there were a whopping 14 players who are either coming from the Tigers or are currently committed to LSU.

Here's a look at everyone in the draft:

No. 12 - OF Derek Curiel

No. 56 - RHP Jensen Hirschkorn (Commit)

No. 59 - OF Jake Brown

No. 100 - RHP Cooper Sides (Commit)

No. 102 - OF/1B Will Adams (Commit)

No. 108 - OF Anthony Murphy (Commit)

No. 110 - RHP Kolby Stringer (Commit)

No. 118 - OF Malachi Washington (Commit)

No. 129 - 1B Dominic Santarelli (Commit)

No. 142 - OF Nathaneal Davis-Cleary (Commit, going to LSU)

No. 146 - RHP Deven Sheerin

No. 154 - LHP Lucas Nawrocki (Commit)

No. 181 - RHP Coleton Brady (Commit)

No. 196 - LHP Spencer Evans (Commit)

Getting Davis back was a real win. He could end up being the highest-ranked player on this list to go to the Tigers. There's even a chance that he forces his way into the lineup in his first season, but he has some steep competition. No one else has completely decided their intentions.

Steven Milam would be in this list, but he had already made his decision to return to LSU before it was published. That was another win for Jay Johnson and his Tigers coaching staff. If they continue to get more, then it's clear that LSU really is investing more resources into this roster.

The MLB draft will take place over the course of July 11 and July 12, Saturday and Sunday.
