LSU Tigers star Steven Milam sent the fanbase into a frenzy with a simple social media change on Thursday.

Jay Johnson has already added some excitement to next year's LSU Tigers baseball roster with the top two players out of the transfer portal, and now could be close to getting back a star who was favored to enter the MLB draft.

Fans have been clamoring to hear what decision a number of former Tigers are going to make about the draft with it now being just one month away. Derek Curiel, Steven Milam and Jake Brown are among those with tough decisions to make.

On Thursday, LSU fans were abuzz when Milam changed his profile picture on the social media platform Instagram to a close-up of Jay Johnson's face. While this obviously isn't any official announcement, it's clear to see why it caught the attention of fans. It has since been changed back to a picture of him.

Johnson is one of the best recruiters in the nation and is beloved by his players. Milam making that change certainly keeps hopes alive that he will actually come back for next season. He was already someone who made more sense to stay in school than Curiel or Brown.

Milam's draft status in the first three rounds is far less certain than his teammates. Given the current status of NIL, the Tigers could realistically put together a deal that would keep him in college for another year while he tries to increase his draft stock.

On the other side of things, Milam wants to get to the Majors and there really ins't much more that he can show in college. He's undersized, which will hurt his draft profile, but he has been an excellent defender and has showcased the ability to truly produce from both sides as a switch-hitter.

Milam has pretty much put up the same stats for the past three seasons. There are some slight differences, but they showed the same strengths. He has slashed .305/.410/.514 with 30 home runs and 146 throughout his time in college. Either decision that he makes would make sense.
