With 24 days until kickoff for the LSU Tigers, it's time to highlight the next two players to don that jersey number in Baton Rouge.

The LSU Tigers football season is inching closer, now down to double digits on the countdown clock. Kickoff against the Clemson Tigers is now just 24 days away.

As we continue to look back at the history of the Bayou Bandits to celebrate and prepare heading into the first game, there is also the matter of getting to know the current-day players.

Here is a look at the past and present of No. 24 at LSU:

No. 24 - LB Tylen Singleton

Singleton was a very highly-touted athlete out of Many, La. He was a track and field star, competing in events that suggest a strong profile for a linebacker: 200m dash, high jump and triple jump. This showcases his potential explosiveness and speed.

The redshirt sophomore has mostly been sitting back and developing. He could probably start at a lot of programs around the country already, but he has waited his turn with the Tigers.

Singleton got his first career start in the bowl game against the Houston Cougars, and he looked the part, picking up nine tackles with one for a loss. All of his other appearances have been a bit more sporadic and at the end of games, but he does have 18 career tackles.

With established veterans coming back ahead of him in the depth chart, he will still probably be in more of a backup role this year, he is still a part of the future plans at the position.

No. 24 - RB Joseph Ebun

Ebun has been around the program for a few years and even entered the transfer portal this past spring, but it looks like he will return as a walk-on as he continues to contribute in that way. He did see the field for the first time last season against the Southeastern Lions.

While walk-ons don't get the most shine, they are important in getting the team prepared to play week in and week out. Some walk-ons also earn their way to a scholarship with hard work and dedication.

Former Players Who Wore No. 24

CB Derek Stingley Jr. (2019-2021)

Stingley put forth one of the best true freshman campaigns that the sport has ever seen. He was the top lockdown corner for the 2019 National Championship team. His next two years were good, but that first year was enough to put his name in the history books. Now, he is one of the best defensive backs in the NFL for the Houston Texans.
