With 29 days until kickoff for the LSU Tigers, it's time to highlight the next player to don that jersey number in Baton Rouge.

The LSU Tigers football season is inching closer, now down to double digits on the countdown clock. Kickoff against the Clemson Tigers is now just 29 days away.

As we continue to look back at the history of the Bayou Bandits to celebrate and prepare heading into the first game, there is also the matter of getting to know the current-day players.

Here is a look at the past and present of No. 29 at LSU:

No. 29 - RB Caden Durham

It was far from a certainty that Durham was coming back to the Tigers this season, going as far as entering the transfer portal. It made sense that they already had Harlem Berry to pay in the running back room, but Lane Kiffin made it a priority to get both running backs to return for next season and pulled it off.

The back has put up 1,258 yards with nine touchdowns on the ground, with 44 catches for 351 yards and two more scores through the air. It has been a solid two seasons for Durham, but people have expected even more.

Durham came out strong as a freshman and really starred in that offense. Berry coming in obviously hurt his role a little bit, but he also looked a stepped slower last year and not has explosive.

Running backs put up big numbers in the Lane Kiffin offense, so there should be plenty of room for both players to have good years. If he is back to being fully healthy, then LSU is going to have a very complete attack on the ground.

No. 29 - EDGE Jordan Ross

Ross is one of the more anticipated transfers, despite a lack of real college production to this point. He has a lot of untapped potential. If the Tigers can tap into it, then their pass rush could be dangerous.

Coming out of high school, Ross was ranked as the No. 22 player in the country, the No. 3 EDGE and No. 4 player out of Alabama. The only pass rushers ahead of him were Dylan Stewart and Colin Simmons, two of the best EDGEs in the nation.

Over his two seasons with the Tennessee Volunteers, Ross has picked up 5 TFLs and 1.5 sacks. He was an important pickup, who was made even more important by the loss of Gabriel Reliford to an ACL tear.
