Five-star EDGE rusher Jaiden Bryant just flipped his commitment from the LSU Tigers to the Miami Hurricanes.

The LSU Tigers have been busy hosting several five-star recruits recently, but just now lost one of their own as defensive end Jaiden Bryant just flipped his commitment from the Tigers to the Miami Hurricanes, per On3's Hayes Fawcett.

Bryant had just posted hours ago that he was locked in with LSU, but things change quickly in modern recruiting. Now he is headed for South Beach with the Hurricanes.

This is a big hit to the Tigers' recruiting efforts, but it also makes some recent decisions make a lot more sense. Bryant is a five-star EDGE and the No. 20 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class per the 247Sports composite rankings. He was LSU's second-highest rated player behind Ahmad Hudson.

The South Carolina native has SEC-ready size at 6-foot-4, 245 pounds, and would have been the perfect player to add next to the elite interior players that the Tigers brought in next season. Now, they'll need to find someone else to fit that description.

This is where hiring Sterling Lucas to coach the defensive line comes in handy, as he is one of the best recruiters currently working in college football. LSU will surely be able to rebound and focus their efforts elsewhere. Conveniently, they've already had some conversations with another big-time pass rusher.

Earlier on Wednesday, five-star defensive end KJ Green announced that he would be visiting Baton Rouge this weekend. Instead of pairing the two together, the Tigers will now focus on replacing Bryant with Green. So far, the efforts have been paying off.
