Four Incoming LSU Tigers Stars Projected In Top 35 SEC Players

Will Wade brought in some of the top projected players in the SEC for this year's Men's Basketball roster.

Will Wade has been in the headlines for months for his controversial approach to building out his first LSU Tigers roster in his return to Baton Rouge. Now, with the start of the season right around the corner, he is being vindicated.

The Tigers have a sneakily loaded roster that is full of some of the top talent in the SEC. They don't have many expectations heading into the season, mostly because no one knows what is about to happen.

College Basketball analytics expert Evan Miyakawa's numbers suggest they could be a pretty talented squad, though, as four LSU players are listed in his preseason top 50 inside the SEC and a couple more just outside. Here is where everyone stands as of now:

No.  10 - G Donovan Dent

Dent is far and away the top player on this roster heading into the year. There are a few who might have higher ceilings, but Dent has proven it at this level. He posted 20.4 points per night back in 24/25 and had 7.6 assists in a different role last year. His early performances in the exhibitions suggest that he's ready to go back to a high-scoring output on this roster.

No.  23 - F Mo Dioubate

Dioubate is another player who has proven his abilities at this level, as this is his fourth season in the SEC. He averaged 8.8 points on 54.2% from the field last year, which is all they need to ask from him on offense. He is a force to be reckoned with on defense and should make for a fun pairing with the next player on this list.

No. 29 - F Saliou Niang

Niang and Dioubate could be one of the most athletic wing pairings in the country, not just the SEC. Niang is a former NBA draft selection and has a sky high ceiling on both sides of the ball. It'll be interesting to see where he is as a shooter, but he should be able to rock the rim and the Tigers have some other spacers to put around him.

No.  31 - G Skyy Clark

Clark is one of those spacers. He shot 42.7% on 4.8 attempts per game last year. In LSU's final exhibition game, he shot 7-of-12 from three. He played with Dent on the UCLA Bruins last season, so there is a lot of comfort and synergy in the backcourt.
