Some great news for the LSU Tigers on Wednesday as superstar tight end

The LSU Tigers released their initial injury report on Wednesday for this weekend's matchup with the Auburn Tigers, and it brought some unexpected great news: no Trey'Dez Green.

After suffering a knee injury in the Week 3 matchup with the Ole Miss Rebels, Green has missed the last four games. That has been a brutal blow to the red zone offense from the moment he left until now.

There isn't much that a team can do to make up for the loss of a 6-foot-7 tight end who moves as well as Green does. Through those two and some change games that he did play in, he had picked up 14 catches for 222 yards and a touchdown.

That would put him on pace for 56 catches, 888 yards and four touchdowns over a 12-game regular season. That, at tight end, is fantastic production, and that feels low for what he could accomplish. Sam Leavitt, Lane Kiffin and Charlie Weis Jr. will be ecstatic to have him back.

Since Green has been out, they have had to move Roman Mothershed to tight end to account for the loss. He has had a couple of moments, but clearly isn't the play-to-play threat that Green was.

This is perfect timing as they face a tough matchup with a confident Auburn team that just beat the No. 1 team in the nation. Perhaps having their star tight end will help them curb their road woes.

Here is the full injury report from Wednesday, for both teams:

LSU

Out

LB Whit Weeks

S Dashawn Spears

WR Phillip Wright III

LB Charles Ross II

Doubtful

DL Richard Anderson

The only update outside of Green is that Anderson is questionable. That would be a bummer as the five-star freshman has been a solid rotational piece along the line. LSU has solid depth in the interior to make up for it, at least.

Auburn

Out

OL Tai Buster

TE Hunter Herring

Buster was going to be a contributing lineman for them, entering his sophomore year. He has been hurt all season long, but is expected to return at some point. Herring was a solid blocking rotational tight end for Louisiana Monroe over the past couple of years, transferred to Auburn, but has only been able to play in one game.

Questionable

DL Saint Farrior

Farrior is another rotational piece, it won't hurt them much if he isn't able to go. It was take away some depth, but wouldn't change much.
