LSU Tigers Close Out Non-Conference Schedule With 109-41 Win Over Alabama State cover image

All who wish for the LSU Tigers Women's basketball team to play some actual competition can rejoice as they have played their final non-conference game of the regular season, as they cruised to a 109-41 victory over the Alabama State Lady Hornets.

The Tigers move to 14-0 on the year and they haven't moved from No. 5 in the country since the season began. They've dominated every game they've been in, but they have all been games that they should be able to take care of business in.

LSU have scored at least 100 points in 11 games. They've held opponents under 50 points in six games. Both the offense and the defense look very good down to the depth of this team. People will just be excited to see them do it against SEC schools.

Against the Hornets, Kate Koval had her best game since becoming a Tiger. It came at a great time as she has been in and out of the lineup. LSU will need her size this year, but her play hasn't always been to the level Kim Mulkey needs it to be.

Koval showed off her offensive potential with 23 points and six offensive boards (11 total) while also adding a steal and a block. She could be the X-factor of this team in certain matchups against teams with dominant bigs, standing at 6-foot-5.

The Tigers will face their first ranked opponent of the season on New Year's day when they take on the No. 11-ranked Kentucky Wildcats at home for their next game.
