The LSU Tigers had some injury new pop up unexpectedly and it could have major ramifications on this weekend's game against the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Starting quarterback Garrett Nussmeier has apparently re-injured the abdominal injury in practice, but will be listed as "probable" on the injury report per LSU interim head coach Frank Wilson on Thursday.

"A little nagging injury re-occurred itself today," said the coach, "I think he's probable, but a little bit concerning, something that we need to monitor."

The injury has looked to have been bugging Nussmeier all season long and has hampered his play, even when he doesn't show up on the injury report.

The senior has completed a career-high 67.4% of his passes, but for just 1,927 yards and 12 touchdowns to five interceptions.

The selection of passes they have called for him have been limited due to his inability to throw the ball deep. For a quarterback who made his calling on a big arm and stretching the field, that's a brutal thing to lose.

It got so bad that they benched him against the Alabama Crimson Tide in favor of Michael Van Buren. The offense didn't really get better after the move was made, but it's something that will certainly be in the back of Wilson's head again this weekend.

It sounds like Nussmeier is trending towards playing against the Razorbacks. Even if he does, expect the leash to be way shorter than it has been for much of this season. It seems likely that Van Buren will get some run either way, but especially if Nussmeier seems limited once the game starts.
