Flau'jae Johnson and Jada Richard led LSU Tigers to a 91-72 win over the Oklahoma Sooners on Sunday afternoon.

The LSU Tigers women's basketball team is officially back to business after beating the No. 13-ranked Oklahoma Sooners with ease on Sunday by a score of 91-72.

It was a rocky start to the Tigers' time in conference play as they lost their first two games to the Kentucky Wildcats and Vanderbilt Commodores. LSU has now won its last three games, improving to 17-2 on the year.

The Tigers had an impressive win last time against the Texas Longhorns, with this win over the Sooners further validating their progress.

It was extra impressive that they were able to do it mostly without the contributions of Mikaylah Williams. Williams has been one of their best players of late, with 20 points in their last game. She had just 10 points on 1-of-8 from the field in this game.

Flau'jae Johnson took over the role of the star again in this game, which should be the expectation for her anyway.

Johnson finished with a game-high 23 points, ten rebounds, three assists, a steal and three blocks. Her defense has been elite all season long; it's a bonus when the scoring comes along with it.

This was a career night for sophomore LSU guard Jada Richard, whose development could be crucial to a deep run into March for this squad.

Richard had a career-high 21 points on 8-of-16 from the field with four rebounds, three assists and two steals.

The Opelousas native was praised before the year as someone who had taken the biggest steps forward in the offseason. She didn't have much of a role as a freshman and hasn't filled up the box score this season either, but there have been flashes when the team needs her.

One thing highlighted heading into the game was how Oklahoma center Raegan Beers was going to fare. Everyone has dominant bigs circled against the Tigers, as their weakness is the front court.

LSU did as good of a job against Beers as they could be asked to in this one. She finished with 10 points and only shot two free throws; her average on the year is 17.1. She did grab 11 rebounds and two blocks, but that is almost automatic for her.

The Tigers will now take a short break from playing ranked opponents after four of their last five were against Top-15 teams. They can't afford to take any SEC team for granted, though, already having those two conference losses.

LSU will take on the Texas A&M Aggies on the road on Thursday at 8 pm CT.
