LSU Tigers WR Signee Corey Barber Upgraded To Five-Star cover image

Explosive playmaker Corey Barber ascends to five-star status, instantly becoming a top LSU Tigers WR threat.

The LSU Tigers have put the finishing touches on their recruiting and transfer portal classes, but they were still able to add a new five-star after the latest rankings update.

Rivals released their final update of the 2026 class and wide receiver signee Corey Barber was promoted to a five-star. He is also now the No. 28 overall player in the country and fourth-ranked wideout. That is a jump from 151 and 20, which is where he was previously.

The Alabama native had committed to play for Lane Kiffin with the Ole Miss Rebels. When Kiffin and the staff left for the Tigers, Barber left as well. It's clear why he wanted to go there in the first place, so it was a quick decision for him.

Barber is mostly just known as a playmaker. Get the ball into his hands and good things will happen. He was a solid track and field athlete, along with putting up big numbers in high school.

Over his final two years, he had 142 catches for 2,559 yards and 32 touchdowns. He added 18 carries for 172 yards and two more scores. He also stood out as a returner with a punt brought back for a touchdown.

He certainly fits the profile that Kiffin has targeted early during his time with LSU. They are all big-play threats that are smaller but feature great speed.

There was a massive overhaul of the wide receiver room with a bunch of new players brought in. Perhaps Barber can make an early impression and earn some playing time. As many good players as there are, it should be an open competition for snaps.
