Six former LSU Tigers project into the 2026 NFL Draft, with early picks like Mansoor Delane and Garrett Nussmeier leading the way. Where will the rest land?
The LSU Tigers are focused on the next era of their football program, but still have a host of players hoping to make their NFL dreams come true.
ESPN's Matt Miller recently released a massive seven-round mock draft for 2026. In it, he projected that a total of six former Tigers will hear their names called over the three-day event.
Here's what Miller predicts will happen:
No. 7 - Washington Commanders - CB Mansoor Delane
Delane certainly didn't need it to be a top-10 pick, but a monster pro day that included a school-reported 4.35 40-yard dash further proves that he deserves to hear his name called early.
The cornerback had one of the best individual cornerback seasons in the history of a school that is known for its defensive back history.
No. 53 - Pittsburgh Steelers - QB Garrett Nussmeier
There are few better situations for Nussmeier to end up in. The Steelers are still waiting to see what Aaron Rodgers decides to do. Even if he doesn't retire, he'll be 43 before the end of the season and won't be sitting at the head of the pack forever. The only other quarterbacks on the roster are Mason Rudolph and Will Howard.
Nussmeier didn't have a storybook ending to his college career, but he certainly looks more like his old self as he continues to get healthy. Perhaps a team will be getting a major steal in him.
No. 57 - Chicago Bears - S A.J. Haulcy
Like with Nussmeier and Pittsburgh, this would be a great spot for Haulcy to land. There isn't a ton of competition in that safety room right now and Haulcy looks pro-ready.
He had 88 tackles with three interceptions and four passes defended. Throughout his college career, he has showcased himself to be a punishing tackler as well as a more-than-adept coverage option.
No. 92 - Dallas Cowboys - LB Harold Perkins Jr.
One of the most interesting cases in all of the draft. He's always been an absurd athlete, and that helped him make a name for himself early in his college career. The problem is that he never really seemed to tune his skills.
Perkins is viewed as too small to be a pass rusher and not good enough at linebacker to be there either. All it takes is the right defensive coordinator, though, as someone could get a playmaker in Perkins. Many will be rooting for him to find success at the next level.
No. 199 - Cincinnati Bengals - EDGE Patrick Payton
While LSU had a fantastic defense last year, Payton might have been one of the more disappointing players on the unit. After 25.5 total tackles for a loss and 11 sacks in his final two years with the Florida State Seminoles, he had just five tackles for a loss and one sack in his one season in Baton Rouge.
No. 246 - Denver Broncos - EDGE Jack Pyburn
Pyburn didn't produce a ton either, but he remained to look like a solid run defense option. He'll likely only see the field in running situations or special teams for a while. Still, a solid option for a late flier in the draft.
