These six LSU Tigers are considered to be among the best 100 players in the country.

The LSU Tigers spared no expense on Lane Kiffin's first roster in Baton Rouge, allowing him to collect a group of some of the best players around the country all over the field.

The Athletic's Sam Khan Jr. released a top 100 for the upcoming college football season, and it was littered with Tigers. Here are the six LSU standouts who made it within the top 100:

No. 98  - S Ty Benefield

Benefield has been the talk of the town since arriving out of the transfer portal. Losing AJ Haulcy certainly hurt after just how good he was last year, but the Tigers may have actually upgraded. Benefield was all over the field last season with 107 tackles, 8.5 TFLs and two interceptions. He should be ranked much higher on whatever the next version of this list is.

No. 84  - EDGE Princewill Umanmielen

As good as LSU's defense was last season, the pass rush wasn't. Harold Perkins picked up four sacks, West Weeks at 2.5, but no one else had more than two. That's why the Tigers went hard at securing top defensive end talent. Umanmielen had nine sacks for the Ole Miss Rebels last season.

No. 72  - TE Trey'Dez Green

Green should be one of the best offensive weapons in the country. Last season, though, they weren't able to get consistent production out of him. The 6-foot-7 tight end has had a non-contact jersey and was just awarded No. 7. It's clear that this coaching staff knows what they have. There should be no better player in the red zone in the country.

No. 68  - LB Whit Weeks

Weeks was the other recipient of the No. 7 jersey, and he is going to be just as important to LSU's defense. The Tigers were able to have their great defensive effort last year, and he was hurt for most of it. During his last healthy season, he had 125 tackles with 10 TFLs and three sacks. If he repeats that production, he'll be taken within the first two days of the 2027 NFL draft.

No. 33  - QB Sam Leavitt

Leavitt looked like a superstar with the Arizona State Sun Devils back in 2024, when he and Cam Skattebo led the school to the College Football Playoff. The quarterback dealt with injuries and had a worse supporting cast in 2025, which caused his production to fall off a cliff. Now, he must reclaim some of that hype. Kiffin and Charlie Weis Jr. have done more with less, so it's going to be exciting to see what they get out of someone who already has first-round expectations.

No. 14  - OT Jordan Seaton

Seaton has been considered one of the best athletes in the country for his entire career. He hasn't been surrounded by much help while with the Colorado Buffaloes, but he has already produced some solid tape. His pass protection ability combined with what should be a better run game could create a brick wall on the left side of the field.
