The LSU Tigers are once again expected to be big spenders once the transfer portal opens up on January 2. There are a lot of holes to fill on both sides of the football, and there should be plenty of resources to work with for Lane Kiffin and co.
Maybe most importantly, will be working on the offensive side of the ball. It was the biggest hole on the team last year and there aren't a ton of answers to be found already on the roster.
Here is a quick wishlist of some players and places for the Tigers:
Moreso than just finding one specific player to fix their offensive line, LSU can take a more general approach to just getting a number of solid guys to give that group a better bottom line and improved depth.
Some want an entirely new starting five next season, which would obviously be a massive overhaul. Braelin Moore is the big name to watch to see if he decides to declare, getting him back would be a big win.
This just feels like too good of a fit to pass up. Miller was a four-star recruit out of Vivian, LA — far Northwest Louisiana — and is leaving the Buffaloes after his breakout season.
He had 45 catches for 808 yards and two touchdowns, despite not having great quarterback play. Many believe he is the top wide receiver currently in the transfer portal.
The receiver play was already weak last year and guys like Aaron Anderson, Barion Brown and Chris Hilton are out of eligibility. A couple of depth pieces have hit the portal. LSU needs someone like Miller.
Many look at the presence of Trey’Dez Green and assume that the Tigers don’t really need another tight end. That’s not the case, though.
Green is more often utilized in the slot, leaving room for a more traditional tight end. Think of how often Bauer Sharp was used last season.
Foley would be an instant upgrade for this offense. He had 37 catches for 528 yards and seven touchdowns.
There are a lot of different pathways that LSU could go down at quarterback, so this could really be anybody. DJ Lagway makes sense, Trinidad Chambliss is an obvious target if he is granted another year of eligibility, but Leavitt is the most proven player that seems to be an option.
He was great in 2024, where the Sun Devils won the Big 12. It was Leavitt and Cam Skattebo that really helped them get there.
The Oregon native had first-round NFL quarterback expectations entering 2025, but had a down year. The talent is there, Kiffin could be just the person to help him get back to that ceiling.
Lacy is listed as an honorable mention because he’s not yet in the portal. He seems close to Kiffin, though, and is someone that the Tigers would surely love to add. If they make the expected move and hire Kevin Smith as running backs coach, this just makes even more sense.
The sophomore had 258 carries for 1,279 yards and an SEC-leading 20 touchdowns. He also had 25 catches for 154 yards.
A duo of Lacy and Harlem Berry would be a ton of fun to watch.
