Ideal NFL team pairings for the LSU Tigers' top draft prospects.
The 2026 NFL draft is just a day away, meaning that dreams are about to come true for a group of ex-LSU Tigers. Despite the disappointing season, there are still a handful of players that teams in the league can't wait to add to their roster.
There are some very interesting cases in the draft class for the Tigers this year. A few wildcards that feel like they could go at any moment, because of a team falling in love with their tools as a prospect.
Here are some team fits for LSU players who are expected to hear their names called during the draft:
CB Mansoor Delane
Team Fits: Miami Dolphins, Washington Commanders, New York Giants
Delane is a player that any team would love to add. There is no such thing as having too much talent at cornerback. He is also a versatile defender who would likely shine in any system. These are just a couple of teams that have gaping holes at corner and pick in or around the top-10.
QB Garrett Nussmeier
Team Fits: Pittsburgh Steelers, Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins
Nussmeier could end up mostly getting past the unfortunate injury that messed up his final year in Baton Rouge. While he likely won't be a first-round pick, he could end up in one of a couple of situations where he gets some early playing time.
S AJ Haulcy
Team Fits: Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins
If Haulcy ends up going to the right team with the right defensive scheme, he could end up as a future All-Pro. While he's not the best athlete, he is super smart, plays with a very high motor and hits hard. He is better in zone, but can cover tight ends like a linebacker in man.
LB Harold Perkins
Team Fits: Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle Seahawks, Houston Texans
Perkins has the most to gain/lose based on where he is drafted. It doesn't take much time watching him to tell that he's a special athlete. He took over games often at LSU, but he isn't an easy player to translate to the NFL. He's a tweener in both size and skill, which means he needs to go somewhere that knows how to get the most out of his athleticism.
WR Zavion Thomas
Team Fits: New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers
Of all the Tigers wide receivers who were supposed to showcase high-end speed at the combine, Thomas was the only one to actually do it. He's a bit undersized, but running a 4.28 makes up for that. He will be a valuable weapon on special teams and can be productive in the right offense.
