The LSU Tigers are going to feel change throughout their roster in the first year of the Lane Kiffin era, but maybe nowhere more so than in the wide receiver room.
There will be no returning starters from last year's offense on the team. There could only be one person from the previous team in all, depending on what happens with Nic Anderson.
Kiffin has been busy rebuilding that room through the transfer portal with four experienced receivers committing, which likely puts an end to their shopping at that position. They also have three incoming freshman to round out the room.
Here are how things will look in the wide receiver room next year, if things remain how they look right now:
Jayce Brown
Eugene Wilson III
Tre Brown
Jackson Harris
This is an interesting group of receivers that Kiffin went after in the portal. Two big names from bigger schools who have plenty of room to grow from what they did previously and then two small name players who were big play threats at small schools looking for bigger opportunities.
Harris and Tre Brown were the first two portal additions. They both finished in the top-10 last year for yards per catch, with Brown at 20.05 and Harris at 19.65. They are both tall and fast, looking to stretch the field for Kiffin.
Jayce Brown and Wilson are both smaller, shiftier players that have more experience in the slot. Brown didn't have the most consistent production in a shaky Kansas State Wildcats offense, but he led the team for the last two years.
Wilson is a game changer with the ball in his hands, but injuries and poor usage has seen his production fall off a cliff since his breakout freshman year.
Nic Anderson (maybe)
Phillip Wright III
This is the big question mark of the team right now. Anderson could very well stick around for next season. He hasn't entered the transfer portal yet, but he also hasn't announced his return. There is also a chance that he opts to try his luck in the NFL draft, given his impressive athletic profile, but with only one full year of production in college.
Anderson would be their only real big-bodied option at 6-foot-4, 210 pounds. His ceiling is high looking back to his redshirt freshman campaign where he had 38 catches for 798 yards and 10 score. Last year for the Tigers, though, he had just 12 catches for 106 yards and two touchdowns.
Wright was a true freshman last year. He didn't have much opportunity, one catch for two yards, but he is an exciting player thanks to his blazing speed. Kiffin clearly likes speed on the outside, so Wright could certainly earn some playing time this fall.
Corey Barber
Jabari Mack
Brayden Allen
Barber is the highest-rated recruit of this bunch and was a Kiffin target from his time with the Ole Miss Rebels. He figures to be in the line of players like Brown and Wilson, hoping to create from the slot and after the catch.
Mack is almost built like a running back at 6-foot, 200-pounds. He played all over the place in high school and that will likely continue at LSU as he becomes an offensive chess piece for Kiffin and Charlie Weis to move around.
Allen is a track star who will make his name with his speed.
