Here are the four hardest quarterback matchups that the LSU Tigers have in store next season.

The LSU Tigers are going to look to come out of the gates swinging in the Lane Kiffin era. The offense is going to be key to making that happen, but the defense is just as crucial.

Blake Baker returns to lead the defense after putting together one of the best units in school history last season. If they can even get close to that level of production while also getting the offense of Kiffin and Charlie Weis Jr., they will be a force to be reckoned with.

Being in the SEC, the level of competition is always going to be higher, but there aren't that many imposing quarterbacks on the schedule as of now. Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, Clemson and a few others are changing passers and going with options who aren't exactly proven.

Here is a ranking of the four toughest quarterbacks that they are set to face next season:

1. Marcel Reed - Texas A&M Aggies

Reed might not be the popular answer to this question, given who is right behind him on this list, but he has remained a thorn in the Tigers' side. He had his coming-out party against LSU when he came in late and ran for three touchdowns. Baker has not been able to answer for his legs.

Even last season, when he threw two interceptions against the Tigers, he ran for 108 yards and two more scores as the Aggies won 49-25. While he may not be the best pure passer on this list, he gets a bonus for beating LSU twice. They'll have one more chance to prove that they can stop him.

2. Arch Manning - Texas Longhorns

Manning is who many would consider the best quarterback on the schedule next season, but he also has plenty of doubters. He had a rough start to his first year as teh Longhorns' starter, but smoothed out as the year went along.

The New Orleans native has all the tools and famed quarterbacks in his corner that one passer could have. Even if he's not a perfect player, he's still super talented and this game will come late in his second year as a starter. This certainly won't be an easy matchup.

3. Trinidad Chambliss - Ole Miss Rebels

The Tigers know everything there is to know about Chambliss, which could end up playing into their favor. Kiffin and Weis helped develop him into the talented passer that he is. This will be his chance to prove that he was more than the system.

In that system, though, he was able to put up 3,937 yards with 22 touchdowns to just three interceptions. He has a dynamic arm and should still be good in this new offense.

4. Byrum Brown - Auburn Tigers

To no one's surprise, Alex Golesh brought over dynamic quarterback Byrum Brown with him to The Plain. He's much of a dual-threat as possible. He completed 66.3% of his passes for 3,158 yards with 1,008 on the ground as well. He finished with 14 touchdowns.

Baker's defense has been susceptible to quarterbacks who can run the ball, so this will be another matchup to watch.
