The LSU Tigers have remained an NFL factory despite not being in the College Football Playoffs since 2019. Part of the reason that there was a coaching change this offseason was the mismanagement of talent.
Now, Lane Kiffin will have the chance to carry out a season with the talent that the Tigers provide. It's a transition year, but LSU still has a ton of skill on its team, and it's not just thanks to the transfer portal.
ESPN draft analyst Matt Miller has gotten a headstart on the 2027 cycle and has three Tigers players listed among the early top prospects at their respective positions.
If Kiffin lives up to expectations, there could be more top players, but here are the three people already in the conversations:

The production decreased, but so did the talent around him on the Arizona State Sun Devils (most notably, no Cam Skattebo). He also suffered a Lisfranc injury that cut his year short.
When he was healthy on the Sun Devils, he completed 61.3% of his passes for 4,652 yards and 34 touchdowns to nine interceptions. He also ran the ball 183 times for 749 yards and 10 more scores.
Leavitt is clearly a talented player and will now get to work with someone who has a track record for getting quarterbacks into the NFL in Kiffin. Jaxson Dart developed into a first-round pick and is a finalist for Rookie of the Year. Leavitt could be next.
© Maria Lysaker-Imagn ImagesGreen has not been the most traditional tight end, mostly being used as a receiving threat, but he is certainly an exciting prospect that NFL offensive coordinators will be drooling to get to work with.
By all accounts, he's a high character person off the field and his potential on the field speaks for itself. He didn't have the most consistent usage last year, but the entire offense struggled at times. It was the games where he asserted himself that made him so intriguing.
There was a three-week stretch where he had 19 catches for 247 yards and three scores. There was another where he had 11 catches for 155 yards and three more scores. The right offense will be able to keep that production steady throughout the year and keep his draft stock high.
© Kevin Jairaj-Imagn ImagesWeeks could have declared for the draft this year, but injuries stunted his junior campaign and almost certainly hurt his stock. Now he will have time to get back to full health. As the leader of what should be one of the nation's best defenses, he will have every opportunity to get himself drafted in the first two days.
When he was healthy back in 2024, he had an incredible campaign. He had 125 tackles with 10 for a loss, 3.5 sacks, an interception and two forced fumbles. That production was more than cut in half last year.
If he can get back to his previous level, teams will be interested. Athletic testing will also be big for him. He has NFL size, but does he have the speed and explosiveness? Teams will need it proven.
