The 2026 NFL draft has come and gone, meaning that most of the eligible former LSU Tigers have found their new homes. There were seven players selected and then a handful were quick to sign undrafted free agent deals.
Drafted Players
Round 1, Pick 6 - CB Mansoor Delane - Kansas City Chiefs
Delane was not only the first cornerback taken, but the first defensive back as a whole. The Chiefs really wanted him and wanted no risks, so they traded up three spots to select him. This is a fun landing spot for him as they are far better than their record last year and now Delane is already their top corner.
Round 3, Pick 78 - S AJ Haulcy - Indianapolis Colts
Haulcy also has a great chance be a starter from his first day on the team. He's a box safety built like a linebacker, but has impressive range for what his most outward-facing skillset would suggest.
Round 3, Pick 89 - WR Zavion Thomas - Chicago Bears
Going to the Bears is a great result for Thomas, as he is joining a high-powered, creative offense. With Caleb Willams passing to him and Ben Johnson calling plays, Thomas should have a far more productive NFL career than he did in college. That 4.28 40-yard dash at the combine did him wonders.
Round 6, Pick 185 - TE Bauer Sharp - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sharp wasn't expected to be the fourth LSU player taken, but he is a good fit at this spot in the draft. He is a fantastic athlete who could develop into an interesting receiver, but should be able to make the team immediately as a special teams player.
Round 6, Pick 190 - WR Barion Brown - New Orleans Saints
Brown will see the field more than a lot of sixth-round picks, as he is almost guaranteed to be the starting return specialist for the Saints this season. His play speed is far quicker than his 4.40 40-yard dash and will be paired with a big-armed quarterback in Tyler Shough.
Round 6, Pick 215 - LB Harold Perkins Jr. - Atlanta Falcons
While everyone wants to be drafted as highly as possible, it always felt more important where Perkins ended up rather than at what specific spot. Going to the Falcons and working with someone like Jeff Ulbrich, their defensive coordinator, is a huge win.
Round 7, Pick 249 - QB Garrett Nussmeier - Kansas City Chiefs
No one expected Nussmeier to fall as far as he did, but the Chiefs got a fantastic backup option for cheap. He at least now lands in a good situation where he gets to learn from Patrick Mahomes and under Andy Reid.
