Memphis women’s soccer picks up a point in Tampa

Memphis women’s soccer picked up a point in a 1-1 draw Thursday night against USF. The Tigers led the Bulls 1-0 at half, but USF responded in the 52nd minute to tie the game.

Abby Forsgren put Memphis on the board with a her second gaol in two matches in the 27th minute. The Tigers had another nice chance in the 35th minute, but Ellis Kelly’s shot hit the crossbar.

Memphis outshot USF 25-2.

It’s early in conference play, but the Tigers sit in a tie for first place with East Carolina. Both teams are 1-0-1 through through games.

Brooks Monaghan’s team returns to action on Sunday for another road game against Florida Atlantic.
