Memphis beat UT Martin by 24 points on Saturday to improve to 3-1 on the young season. While the Tigers got the job down on the field, they were also working to get the job done on the recruiting trail. Ahead of the first home game against Arkansas State, Memphis announced it sold out its recruiting section, and they had another strong showing of prospects on Saturday. The Tigers are prioritizing building relationships with players in the class of 2028 and beyond, but they also had a pair of commits on hand. While there isn’t an official list of who was in attendance, here are 15 prospects who made posts about attending Memphis’ game against the Skyhawks. 2027 OT Jonathan Toney (Commit) Offensive tackle Jonathan Toney was one of two commits on hand for Saturday’s victory. Toney committed to Memphis on June 15 after an official visit. 2027 CB Bradley Stamper (Commit) Bradley Stamper was the second commit on campus, and it’s the second game the cornerback has been in attendance for after being at the home opener against Arkansas State. Stamper committed to the Tigers on June 23 after an official visit, and he helped lead University School of Jackson to a 49-6 win over FACS on Friday. 2028 QB Kobe Butler-Simmons (Germantown High School) Kobe Butler Simmons is 2028 quarterback who transferred to Germantown High School after throwing for 2,400 yards and 30 touchdowns as a sophomore at Memphis Business Academy. He isn’t currently ranked, but he holds 25 offers, including recent offers from Duke, Virginia, Kentucky and Notre Dame. 2027 ATH Jaxton Schmitt (Rhea County High School) Jaxton Schmitt is a dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2027, but it appears he might make the move to wide receiver at the college level. In June, he attended a camp at Vanderbilt, and he ran drills with the wide receivers. Schmitt ran a 4.43 40-yard dash with a 10-foot-3 broad jump a the camp. 2028 CB/ATH Andrew Robinson (Whitehaven High school) Andrew Robinson is a cornerback in the class of 2028, and he has been in attendance for both of the Tigers’ home games this season. As a sophomore, Robinson recorded 31 tackles, three tackles for loss, seven pass breakups, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries. 2029 DE Tristan McGugan (Briarcrest Christian) Tristan McGugan is a class of 2029 prospect who attends Briarcrest Christian High School. He stands at 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds, and he benches 280 pounds and squads 405 pounds as a sophomore. 2029 DL Zaviaus Miller (Briarcrest Christian) Zaviaus Miller is another 2029 prospect out of Briarcrest. He’s listed at 6-foot-2 and 295 pounds, and he benches 295 pounds and squats 500 pounds. 2030 QB John Stagle (Goodpasture High School) Freshman quarterback John Stagle picked up an offer from Memphis on June 21, and he took a game visit on Saturday. As an eighth grader, Stagle played for the high school team and three for six touchdowns in three JV games and three touchdowns in two varsity games. 2028 OL/DL Emmanuel Price (Cordova High School) Emmanuel Price is a local prospect in the class of 2028, and he attends Cordova High School. The lineman is 6-foot-4 and 270 pounds. 2027 WR/DB Caiden Foster (Boyd Buchanan High School) Caiden Foster is a class of 2027 receiver and defensive back who plays for Boyd Buchanan after attending Heritage High School in Ringgold, Georgia. Last season, Foster recorded 84 yards on six receptions, and he recorded 33 tackles and two interceptions on the defensive side of the ball. 2028 DE/TE Bronson Norris (Goodpasture High School) Bronson Norris is a class of 2028 prospect who plays defensive end and tight end. This is the second time he’s been in Memphis after attending a Memphis camp in June. 2027 RB/ATH JD Donaldson (Briarcrest Christian JD Donaldson holds an offer from the Tigers, and he has recorded 1,367 yards for Briarcrest throughout his career. 2028 OL Reid McMahan (Covington High School) McMahan is an offensive lineman in the class of 2028 who stands at 6-foot-2 and 285 pounds. The offensive lineman has taken game visits to Indiana and Memphis. 2029 K Lane Martin (Lewisburg High School) Lane Martin is a kicker in the class of 2029, and he was ranked the No. 7 kicker in the country by Kohl’s Kicking Camp. 2028 DB/WR Titus Hassell (Briarcrest Christian) Hassell is a class of 2028 prospect and holds and offer from the Tigers. The cornerback recorded his first interception of the season of Friday and returned it for a pick-six.
