Elite Pennsylvania edge rusher Abraham Sesay sets an April 10th visit with the Miami Hurricanes, eyeing their defensive prowess and coaching.
The Miami Hurricanes continue to schedule campus visits for potential prospects, including edge rusher Abraham Sesay. He's a four-star recruit coming from Downingtown East High School, a public institution located in Exton, Pennsylvania.
Sesay is currently ranked 81st nationally, 10th among the position, and fifth in the state for the class of 2027, according to 247Sports Composite. The Pennsylvania native is being recruited by numerous programs, including the Florida Gators, Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon Ducks, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
The current high school junior has an official visit scheduled with the Hurricanes during the spring semester, on April 10.
Sesay has made a couple of unofficial visits with the Penn State Natty Lions, including attending a school camp, plus with the Syracuse Orange.
The Hurricanes are known for developing defensive players, including having arguably the best defensive end duo last season in Rueben Bain Jr. and Akheem Mesidor. Both declared for the upcoming NFL draft, received invitations to the Combine, and could be first-round selections.
Sesay would be a great development project for defensive line coach and Pro Football Hall of Famer Jason Taylor. He's a dual-threat athlete, playing both football and basketball, which speaks to his athleticism. Sesay has the speed to get past defenders, but needs to add more muscle to handle the physicality of college football.
The four-star recruit is currently listed at 6-3, 215 pounds.
Despite the departures of Bain Jr. and Mesidor, the Hurricanes have talented edge rushers ready to step up, such as Marquise Lightfoot, Hayden Lowe, and newly-added Damon Wilson II, who was previously in the SEC with the Missouri Tigers.
The depth of the position shows how desirable the program is for edge rushers.
Sesay could continue the trend if he decides to commit to the Hurricanes.
Coming off a National Championship appearance, coach Mario Cristobal has successfully established a new standard, which will be an attractive factor for high school recruits.
The Hurricanes are expected to remain competitive after retaining key pieces, plus adding talent through the transfer portal and incoming freshmen, such as five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell.
Sesay will likely schedule official visits with other programs before announcing his decision. As the Hurricanes secured a date, it could be a critical turning point in the recruiting process.
Coach Cristobal successfully turned things around for his alma mater and looks to keep things moving forward instead of backwards.
