Talented four-star linebacker Mikahi Allen makes his way to Coral Gables, eyeing a future with the Miami Hurricanes and their storied linebacker lineage.

The Miami Hurricanes are setting dates to meet with talented high school prospects, and Mikahi Allen is one of the latest. The four-star linebacker will take a trip down to South Florida, take a look around campus and the facilities in the late spring, on April 9.

Allen currently attends Don Bosco Prep High School, a private institution in Ramsey, New Jersey. In his junior season, he recorded 58 total tackles, 33 solos and 25 assists, 10 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two passes defended, and three interceptions in 12 games.

The four-star recruit is ranked 202nd nationally, 12th among his position, and third from New Jersey for the class of 2027, according to 247Sports Composite.

Allen has received interest and offers from numerous programs, including the Auburn Tigers, North Carolina State Wolfpack, Michigan Wolverines, Oregon Ducks, Texas Longhorns, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He's made a couple of unofficial visits: Nov. 2, 2024, to the Penn State Natty Lions, and most recently, to the Florida State Seminoles for Junior Day on Jan. 31.

The four-star linebacker is listed at 6-1, 220 pounds, but possesses great speed. He's quick to make plays, such as making tackles or getting to the quarterback.

The Hurricanes were home to a few notable linebackers, such as Dan Morgan, Jonathan Vilma, and Pro Football Hall of Famer Ray Lewis.

The latest success story is Wesley Bissainthe. The Miami native spent four years with the program, improving each year and playing a critical role in the Hurricanes' defense. He recorded 204 total tackles, 121 solos and 83 assists, 14.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, one forced fumble, a pass broken up, three passes defended, and two interceptions in 54 total games, including 41 starts. Bissainthe declared for the upcoming NFL draft and received an invitation to the Combine.

Allen could find a similar home with the Hurricanes. He would develop directly with Heterman, who's also the linebacker coach and a finalist for the Broyles Award.

However, the current high school junior will likely schedule more official visits with other programs.

Allen played in the Under Armour All-America game on Jan. 3. He played for Team Pearls, who suffered a 23-9 loss against Team Roses.

An official visit could go a long way in the recruiting process.

The Hurricanes and coach Mario Cristobal have emphasized the importance of development, which could involve Allen based on his future decision. Coming off a National Championship appearance, the program looks to remain competitive for years to come.
