Mario Cristobal’s staff looks to outpace SEC powerhouses for Jatori Williams, a dominant 300-pound blocker whose Friday decision could propel the Miami Hurricanes toward a top-ranked class.
Miami, FL. – The Miami Hurricanes made significant noise on the high-school recruiting trail last week. They flipped four-star cornerback Ai’King Hall from Oregon and secured three-star local edge rusher Jayvon Dawson’s commitment. The program continues to make progress in building a top-10 2027 recruiting group, with a chance to add another high-school talent, especially to bolster the line of scrimmage.
It was reported that four-star interior offensive lineman Jatori Williams is set to commit on Friday, May 22. There are five programs listed in the final running: Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida State Seminoles, Kentucky Wildcats, and Hurricanes.
As a junior, Williams played on the left side at the line of scrimmage, primarily at tackle. He originally committed to the University of Alabama, then decided to reopen the recruiting process on Dec. 1, 2025. However, the Crimson Tide program has an opportunity to regain a local prospect.
Williams currently attends Central High School, a public institution located in Phenix City, Alabama. He is listed at 6-3, 300 pounds, and ranked 105th nationally, ninth among interior offensive linemen, and fourth in the state for the 2027 class, according to Rivals Industry Rankings. Williams has received interest and scholarship offers from numerous programs, including the Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Ole Miss Rebels, and Tennessee Volunteers, among a few others.
The four-star recruit had official visits scheduled with each of the finalists, including the Hurricanes on June 5. He hadn’t made any previous stops at the Coral Gables campus and facility. However, a decision will be announced before that could happen.
Williams’ recruitment is trending towards the University of Miami. The Hurricanes currently have a 94 percent chance of securing him, according to Rivals’ recruit prediction machine.
The program has built an identity around dominating matchups at the line of scrimmage, playing a pivotal role in reaching the National Championship this past season. They had three offensive linemen selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, including a first-rounder in All-American Francis Mauigoa to the New York Giants.
Williams has been primarily recruited by Hurricanes’ offensive line coach Alex Mirabal. He has an opportunity to develop directly under one of the most highly-regarded assistants in the nation. Williams would be the program’s 14th commit, which would elevate the group’s rankings among the best in the nation.
