Can the Miami Hurricanes land dual-threat quarterback Brady Quinn? The four-star prospect eyes a crucial visit to Coral Gables amid a packed spring tour.
As spring training unravels, the Miami Hurricanes continue to focus on building towards a brighter future. As the program continues to stack commitments for the recruiting class of 2027, they’re working further ahead. Four-star quarterback Brady Quinn announced a long list of spring visits on social media, which includes the Hurricanes on April 10. He attended Lely High School and First Baptist Academy before transferring to Charminade-Madonna Prep ahead of his junior year.
Quinn completed 374 of 644 passes, 58.1 percent, throwing for 5,509 yards and 70 touchdowns in 24 total games over two seasons. The prospect is a dual-threat quarterback who can extend plays with his legs. Quinn rushed 71 times for 332 yards, scoring five touchdowns. He’s listed at 6-1, 195 pounds, and ranked 185th nationally, 16th among quarterbacks, and 26th in the state of Florida for the class of 2028, according to Rivals Industry Rankings.
The four-star prospect already began his spring tour with a couple of visits to the Clemson Tigers and Indiana Hoosiers. The rest of the schedule:
- Notre Dame Fighting Irish: Friday, March 27
- Purdue Boilermakers: Saturday, March 28
- SMU Mustangs: April 3
- Miami: April 10
- Alabama Crimson Tide: April 11
- Kentucky Wildcats: April 18
Quinn received interest and offers from other programs, including the Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, South Florida Bulls, Michigan Wolverines, UCF Knights, Ole Miss Rebels, Missouri Tigers, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and Louisville Cardinals, plus more.
The Hurricanes have been luxurious enough to acquire top-market quarterbacks through the transfer portal in three consecutive years, with All-ACC Darian Mensah being the latest. However, Cam Ward and Carson Beck, both of whom joined the program before him, were one-and-done situations. They led the Hurricanes to new heights, with Mensah expected to do the same, but continuity matters. Part of that comes from high school recruiting and developing.
As Quinn takes the opportunity to walk around the Coral Gables campus and facility, he could decide to play close to home as well.
The Hurricanes have taken an extra step in recruiting in-house talent, which currently makes up the entire class of 2027, including a couple of elite wide receivers in Nick Lennear and Ah’Mari Stevens. Homegrown stars, such as All-American edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr., linebacker Wesley Bissainthe, and running back Mark Fletcher Jr., led the program’s turnaround since coach Mario Cristobal took over.
Coming off a National Championship, the team seeks to remain competitive in the long run. As Quinn continues his spring tour, joining his hometown program could impact the final decision.
