The Miami Hurricanes' chance of making the College Football Playoff are pretty much done.
On Saturday, they lost to SMU in overtime in Dallas. It marked their second loss of the season, meaning they will likely fall out of the Top 20. The defeat led South Florida rap and sports icon Uncle Luke, of 2 Live Crew fame, to question why the Hurricanes hired coach Mario Cristobal in the first place.
He suggest the `Canes should have added Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin years ago.
"Unbelievable, I can't make this up," Campbell said on X. "But for the record, let me remind you when (Mark) Richt left, I told you all to hire Lane Kiffin."
After Richt, the Hurricanes added Manny Diaz, who only lasted from 2019-2021. Campbell said he was still clamoring for the University to go after Kiffin, who is now at Ole Miss.
"Lane said he would walk to Miami," Campbell said. "That's what he said."
In the post, Campbell continued to crush the Hurricanes administration for making the wrong moves.
"Then you had a second opportunity when you fired Manny Diaz," Campbell said. "Who's the hottest coach in college football right now? The guy that I told you guys to hire and you didn't listen."
What's most disappointing is many thought this was the year the Hurricanes would finally return to relevance in college football. They began by winning the first five games before losing to Louisville during a game quarterback Carson Beck threw four interceptions.
After a win against the Stanford Cardinal, many thought the `Canes were back. But those hopes were dashed with the loss to the Mustangs.
