After falling in the NCAA FBS Championship Game, the Miami Hurricanes have put the petal to the metal with their recruiting this offseason and it is starting to take notice.

On his radio show, South Florida radio host Orlando Alzugaray Jr. applauded Mario Cristobal's work as a recruiter this offseason with multiple five-star prospects coming to Miami.

The Hurricanes flipped the commitment of edge rusher Jaiden Bryant from LSU. The defensive star hails from Columbia, South Carolina and was the target of multiple SEC teams. Bryant committed to the Tigers in early January but visited Miami last week, officially flipping his commitment on June 3. 24/7 Sports has Bryant as the No. 20 overall recruit in the Class of 2027 but the Hurricanes have done far more than just landing Bryant.

There are three other five-star recruits for the Class of 2027 who are officially committed to Miami. One of which is cornerback Dante Wright, the No. 9 ranked recruit in the 2027 class. Wright hails from Long Beach, California and committed to Miami following a strong push from the Georgia Bulldogs. Miami also landed quarterback Israel Abrams from Arlington Heights, Illinois. The 6'4" quarterback is ranked as the second-best quarterback in the class and No. 39 overall. The final five-star is hometown kid Nick Lennear, a 5'11" wide receiver, who is ranked as the third-highest receiver and the No. 12 recruit overall.

Cristobal has had some success in recent years as a recruiter but none of the recent Miami recruiting classes have felt this strong. Thus far, the Hurricanes are ranked at No. 3 in terms of 2027 recruiting classes, just behind the Texas A&M Aggies and Oklahoma Sooners. The Clemson Tigers are the next best ACC team and they are ranked at No. 6.

According to the 24/7 composite rankings, the Hurricanes only had one five-star prospect in the class of 2026 with star offensive lineman Jackson Cantwell. Miami's last multiple five-star recruiting class was the No. 4 ranked class of 2024 with three prospects: defensive lineman Justin Scott, edge rusher Marquise Lightfoot and defensive lineman Armondo Blount.

This year, the Hurricanes had nine players selected in the NFL draft with three of them among first-round picks. Cristobal has done a real solid job at developing young talent and preparing them for the pros while also staying competitive in a relatively weak ACC but a strong pool of FBS teams. For Miami to compete with stacked SEC rosters, the recruiting needs to be top-notch and for the class of 2027, there certainly should not be any complaints.
