After making the CFP title game, the Miami Hurricanes are getting more attention from the nation's top high school recruit. Here's the latest

The Miami Hurricanes had the luxury of letting their play speak for them on the field.

They completed one of the best seasons in recent history, losing to the Indiana Hoosiers in the CFP championship last month in Miami. It served as basically an advertisement for the UM recruiting plight.

Proof is the Hurricanes securing an official visit from Top 50 defensive back standout Duvay Williams. He recently announced he has interest in joining the UM program. The move should come as no surprise because coach Mario Cristobal recently talked about how recruits have shown more interest since the season ended.

"Well, they saw it all," Cristobal said recently on the "Through The Smoke" podcast. "The feedback, the welcome was incredible, like everywhere, it was absolutely awesome. They saw our guys on stages on these New Year's Six games holding up trophies and confetti and all that other stuff. So it was incredible."

As a rising high school senior, Williams had a strong showing last year at Serra in Gardena, Calif. He finished with 24 tackles but impressed with his versatility. He also had an impact on the offensive side of the ball.

The reality is the Hurricanes are in the process of rebuilding to the glory days when they were atop the college football mountain. After from the 1980s to early 2000s, they hit hard times the past 25 years. This was the first year they were in contention for a championship since 2003 when they lost to Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl. The positive is it seems the Hurricanes are once again among the top targets for the best recruits in the country.

That is one of the things Cristobal pointed out in the interview.

"But I think you'll see," Cristobal said. "Although there's going to be a ton of guys coming through campus once this thing opens up again, and it was an incredible, incredible, I would say, welcome and feel and push on the road. The feeling about Miami is really, really strong, and the best players in the country are going to be coming down this way to check it out."
