Miami Hurricanes quarterback Darian Mensah secures an ownership stake in Floridian Spring Water as he prepares to lead college football’s most efficient offense into a showdown at Clemson.

MIAMI, Fla. –  No. 4 Miami Hurricanes quarterback Darian Mensah reportedly signed a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal with Floridian Spring Water and received an ownership stake in the company, according to On3.

The specific details of the agreed terms weren’t disclosed.

Kirk Scrudder is the President of the company, which is a family business rooted in providing the most natural spring water with organic alkalinity. Its source is from Florida’s Crystal River aquifer, which is constantly replenished by rain.

The product is sold in over 190 stores and online with free shipping within the Sunshine State.

Partnering with one of college football’s biggest stars is a key investment. Mensah has led the Hurricanes to a 4-0 (ACC 2-0) record to start the 2026 regular season. He’s completed 94 of 106 passes (an FBS-leading 88.7 completion percentage) and thrown for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns with no interceptions.

Mensah has led the Hurricanes’ offense to similar heights as Cam Ward in the 2024 season. They currently average the third-most points in FBS – 51.8. Mensah has thrown for over 250 passing yards in three of the first four games this season, plus finishing with at least three touchdowns in each of them.

The 21-year-old is on pace to be a finalist for the Heisman Trophy and be an early first-round selection in the 2027 NFL Draft. However, the matter at hand is in the present. The Hurricanes will face Clemson at Memorial Stadium, otherwise known as Death Valley, on Saturday night.

Mensah will face arguably the most talented defensive front he’s matched up against so far this season. Senior edge rusher Will Heldt and junior linebacker Sammy Brown are a couple of significant standouts. Mensah has proven to operate outside the pocket and under pressure, but those skill sets will be further tested.

The Hurricanes have developed transfer portal quarterbacks into highly-touted NFL prospects.

After coming from two seasons at Washington State, Cam Ward transferred to the Coral Gables program ahead of the 2024 college football season. He completed 305 of 454 passes (67.2 percent) and threw for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns with just seven interceptions in 13 games (all starts). Ward finished fourth in Heisman Trophy voting and was the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft – selected by the Tennessee Titans. Afterwards, Carson Beck took the same path.

Despite five years at Georgia and two National Championships, a season with the Hurricanes propelled the 23-year-old’s stock. He completed 338 of 467 passes (an ACC-leading 72.4 completion percentage) and threw for 3,813 yards and 30 touchdowns with 12 interceptions in 16 games (all starts). Although Beck wasn’t the flashiest quarterback in college football, he executed well enough for the Hurricanes to return to the National Championship game for the first time since 2003.

Mensah is looking to carve out a similar story, but write a different ending. He will have another opportunity to showcase elite quarterback talent on prime-time against Clemson. The game is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. E.T. and will be televised on ABC.
