The transfer portal of officially humming and it's almost too much to keep up with. Teams across the country are losing pieces of their roster left and right and Michigan is no different. Throw in the fact that U-M is going through a coaching staff overhaul and you might see even more Wolverines jumping ship than normal.
The list below will continue to be updated as we move through transfer season.
CB Zeke Berry
It's great to see Berry move from the "Transferring Out" column into the "Returning" column. He played the third-most snaps on the defense with 562 and was an All-Big Ten selection by the media (second team) and the coaches (third team). So far at Michigan, he has 74 tackles, including 3.5 for loss, and three interceptions.
QB Bryce Underwood
Obviously this one is huge. New head coach Kyle Whittingham and offensive coordinator Jason Beck did a great job prioritizing Underwood and probably didn't have to sell the idea too hard. Beck, and quarterbacks coach Koy Detmer Jr., have had incredible success with every signal caller they've worked with and likely cannot wait to get their hands on Underwood.
OL Blake Frazier
Frazier has a few starts at left tackle under his belt so that's likely where he'll be at in 2026. He didn't see any action during his true freshman year in 2024, but last year he played several positions before earning the nod at LT.
OL Andrew Babalola
As a former five-star offensive tackle, hopes were high for Babalola even during his true freshman campaign but he unfortunately injured his knee causing him to miss the entire 2025 season. When the 2026 season kicks off, he'll be healthy and likely at the top of the depth chart for the right tackle position.
RB Jordan Marshall
Another big time cog has decided to return to Michigan. Marshall figures to be the lead back in Ann Arbor next season unless Justice Haynes surprises and decides to return as well. Thrown in five-star Savion Hiter and you have an ELITE running back room, with or without Haynes. Marshall battled injuries late in the season but still managed to carry the ball 150 times for 932 yards and 10 touchdowns.
OL Jake Guarnera
Only Sprague and Greg Crippen played more snaps than Guarnera on the offensive line this year as he became one of the more reliable players up front. The 6-4, 311-pounder was recognized as an All-Big Ten selection, honorable mention by the coaches and media. Him returning seriously solidifies at least one spot along the offensive line.
OL Andrew Sprague
At 6-8, 315 pounds, Sprague is a prototypical tackle and had already established himself as a solid player in just year two. As a true freshman, he appeared in four games with one start and after the 2025 campaign he was recognized as an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection by the coaches and media. He's another player who will be a big part of U-M's offensive line.
RB Bryson Kuzdzal
The former walk-on really stepped up when Michigan's running back room was riddled with injuries showing that he deserves to carry the ball. It probably isn't going to happen much at Michigan next year with Jordan Marshall and Savion Hiter in the fold, but Kuzdzal is good enough to be the guy somewhere.
QB Mikey Keene (committed to Arizona State)
If he finds another school, it'll be his fourth stop after lacing up at UCF, Fresno State and obviously Michigan. Keene dealt with injuries almost all season and never saw any action with the Wolverines. It'll be interesting to see where he lands and if he can get back to his Fresno days where he started 23 of 24 games.
OL Ben Roebuck
At 6-7, 312 pounds, Roebuck looks the part but he never found his way in Ann Arbor. After seeing no action during his freshman season, Roebuck only played on two games this past year.
K/P Beckham Sunderland (committed to Minnesota)
Sunderland came over to Michigan after one season at Texas State and focused almost entirely on kickoffs. He had some decent success and pretty consistently kicked it well enough to result in a touchback.
DL Enow Etta
The 6-5, 320-pounder just put a bow on his third season in Ann Arbor and was starting to carve out a nice role for himself. With some position versatility, Etta logged 295 snaps along the defensive line. He finished the 2025 season with 15 tackles including 2.5 for loss and half a sack.
S Jaden Mangham (committed to Purdue)
The former Michigan State Spartan was at U-M for the last two seasons and really found a pretty nice role for himself in 2025. His first year in Ann Arbor was more of a learning experience as he saw action in just one game but this past season he played 350 snaps and in all 13 contests. He finished with 30 tackles including two for loss.
EDGE Devon Baxter
The former four-star prospect has been in Ann Arbor for two years but did not see action as a true freshman and did not play a snap in 2025 either according to Pro Football Focus.
OL Connor Jones (committed to Georgia State)
The 6-6, 320-pounder arrived in Ann Arbor back in 2022 and never really found a role. He appeared in just three games during his first three seasons and, while he did get onto the field in nine contests in 2025, it was almost entirely on special teams and in garbage time.
OL Kaden Strayhorn (committed to Alabama)
Strayhorn's departure is a little surprising as he was just a freshman and looked to be making his way into the two-deep at the very least. He has position versatility at both guard spots and at center and had bulked up to 308 pounds at 6-2. He shouldn't be viewed as an irreplaceable type of talent, but he definitely looked to be a future contributor on the offensive line.
RB Jasper Parker (committed to Arkansas)
With a crowded running back room that could get incredibly crowded if Justice Haynes surprises and decides to return, Parker likely saw the writing on the wall that indicated he would not be getting many touches. With Jordan Marshall expected to return, and five-star Savion Hiter on his way in, Parker simply didn't have enough skill to crack the two-deep. The 6-0, 205-pounder carried the ball 25 times for 93 yards and two scores during his true freshman campaign and should be able to find some carries elsewhere.
WR Semaj Morgan (committed to UCLA)
The curious case of Semaj Morgan is just that — curious. After a promising true freshman campaign in 2023, he regressed, both as a receiver and as a returner. Unfortunately for Morgan, he likely wasn't getting the kind of coaching he needed over the past two seasons from now-fired special teams coach JB Brown and head coach Sherrone Moore. With a year of eligibility left, Morgan will likely move on to a smaller school and will probably be pretty productive.
LB Cole Sullivan (committed to Oklahoma)
This is the one that hurts the most right now. Sullivan might return to Michigan but the fact that he's looking around should have U-M coaches and fans concerned as he'll like be one of the top overall targets in the portal. The true sophomore became one of Michigan's best overall defensive players in 2025 and it was noticeable when he wasn't on the field. He recorded 44 tackles, including five for loss and two sacks, during the 2025 season and also picked off three passes and recovered a fumble. He has a knack for making plays and always seems to be around the ball. Losing him would be a major blow for new defensive coordinator Jay Hill's unit.
CB Elijah Dotson
Dotson appeared in nine games during his true freshman campaign in 2025 and played 94 snaps. That's not a lot, but it's noteworthy for a young player. He finished with 11 tackles and an interception. It's also noteworthy that he's the former high school teammate of quarterback Bryce Underwood.
QB Davis Warren (committed to Stanford)
Warren is an absolute warrior as a cancer survivor and also showed some real grit on the field last year as U-M's starting quarterback. He'll forever be remembered as the QB at the helm when Michigan beat Ohio State in Columbus as a three-touchdown underdog. He's got some ability so it'll be really interesting to see where he lands.
QB Jadyn Davis
Davis was viewed as a very nice get on the recruiting trail as a borderline five-star talent but he played in just one game as a true freshman last year. This year was obviously Bryce Underwood's show, so Davis only saw action in three games. He should be able to move on with at least three years of eligibility left.
WR Fredrick Moore
The 2025 season was a strange one for Moore. After spending two full seasons in Ann Arbor, Moore left the program sometime during the month of October. While at Michigan, Moore caught 13 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown.
WR Logan Forbes
Forbes originally joined Michigan as a preferred walk-on. Before college, he was a standout at St. Thomas More in Connecticut, where he recorded 968 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior. This is the second time Forbes has explored the portal; he briefly entered in December 2024 before withdrawing in January 2025 to return for his senior year. His departure is part of a larger wave of Michigan players entering the portal following the conclusion of the 2025 season and the Citrus Bowl.
TE Brady Prieskorn
A highly-touted recruit from Rochester, Michigan, enters the portal with four years of eligibility remaining after redshirting during the 2024 season. Prieskorn stands 6-6, 250 and didn't get much playing time other than three games (Washington, Maryland, and Ohio State). The most snaps he saw were 14 against Maryland. 2024 he did not see game action and utilized a redshirt season. He suffered an undisclosed injury during pregame warmups before the Ohio State game in late 2024, which kept him out of the ReliaQuest Bowl.
LS Nico Crawford (Pittsburgh)
Before playing at Pitt, Crawford spent the 2023 season at Charlotte playing for Biff Poggi. There, he played in 11 games as the snapper for field goals and PATs. He then enrolled at Pitt in January 2024 and played in all 13 games as the Panthers’ long snapper for field goals and extra points.
K Trey Butkowski
It'll be another former Pitt Panther as part of Michigan's field goal unit with the commitment of Butkowski. The kicker was 20-of-23 on field goal attempts in 2025, including a long of 47 yards. He earned second-team All-ACC honors and was named to the Pro Football Focus All-Freshman Team.
P Cameron Brown
There's not much to look at when considering a punter, but Brown averaged 43.8 yards this past season as a freshman.
