Mizzou baseball sweeps New Haven in weekend series

Missouri Tigers baseball completed a three-game sweep of New Haven in Fort Myers, Florida, moving to 5-2 on the season. The Tigers outscored New Haven by a combined 36 runs and finished each game in seven innings.

Missouri is now already off to an improved start in 2026, as the Tigers sat 3-4 through seven games last season. Here's everything that went down in the series sweep.

Game 1

The first game of the series started out slow, as Missouri pitcher Jayven Pimental and New Haven pitcher Myles McDermott each allowed one run and two hits through three innings.

However, a fourth-inning Missouri explosion blew the game open, as the Tigers scored five runs to jump out to a 6-1 lead. The Tigers then scored more or as many runs as New Haven in each of the remaining three innings, eventually winning the contest 12-2.

Missouri first baseman Tyler Macon went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs and one walk. Designated hitter Jase Woita and center fielder Pierre Seals both went 2-for-5, with Woita logging two RBIs and Seals logging three.

Pimental totaled 10 strikeouts in 19 at bats, moving to 1-1 on the season.

Game 2

The second game was an even bigger beatdown of New Haven, as Missouri won 17-5.

Josh McDevitt started on the mound for Missouri and picked up his second win of the season while allowing two hits, two runs and throwing seven strikeouts in 20 at bats.

A six-run third inning opened the floodgates for the Tigers hot bats, which were spread evenly from the top to bottom of the order. Macon, DH Sam Parker, catcher Mateo Serna, shortstop Eric Maisonet, centerfielder Leo Humbert and outfielder Isaiah Frost each logged two hits. Macon led the pack with four RBIs. No New Haven batter logged more than one hit.

Game 3

Missouri started off hot in the third and final game of the series, opening the first inning with an eight-run performance. The Tigers eventually won 16-2 in seven innings of action.

Macon and Seals each recorded three hits while Macon, Parker and Keegan Knutson each logged three RBIs.

New Haven pitchers allowed 11 hits, recorded seven errors and nine walks. Missouri starting pitcher Brady Kehlenbrink allowed four hits, two runs and two walks in his five innings of action, picking up a win while moving to 2-0 as a starter this season.

Missouri will next host Arkansas-Pine Bluff for a two-game series beginning 3 p.m. Tuesday with the second game beginning 1 p.m. Wednesday.
