Tigers lock down key 2026 recruits, add crucial depth, and host portal visitors on a busy second day shaping their roster.
The NCAA football transfer portal officially opened on Jan. 2. Missouri's first day was rather eventful, scheduling eight visits, re-signing four key players for the 2026 season and losing two players from the 2025 roster to the portal.
Missouri kept busy on Jan. 3, continuing to take steps to mold its roster for the 2026 season. Here's everything the Tigers did on the second day of the transfer portal's opening.
Outgoing Transfers
None. Missouri lost no players to the transfer portal, which at this point, matters quite a bit. 23 Tigers from the 2025 roster have already entered the portal, five of which were starters and another two of which played at least 150 snaps last season. Barring any late entrees, it seems like the Tigers may be safe from any more departures.
Official Re-signees
Missouri locked up six returners for the 2026 season, beginning with 6-foot-8, 305 pound offensive tackle Jack Lange. Lange was a four-star recruit in the 2025 class, and is all the more important to both the team's future and immediate success, given recent departures of Keiton Jones, Henry Fenuku, Keagen Trost and more.
The Tigers also returned Whit Hafer, who was originally rostered as a tight end, but has since made the transition to offensive line. The redshirt freshman has played three snaps for Missouri, but was a three-star prospect in the class of 2024.
More importanly, Missouri re-signed redshirt freshman cornerback Cam Keys. Keys, a four-star prospect, has played more snaps than any returning cornerback on Missouri's 2026 roster. His retention can't go unnoticed.
Shaun Terry II was also signed to return in 2026. While he played sparingly in 2025, Terry is now one of two receivers on the Tigers' roster to log a reception the past season, joining fellow true freshman Donovan Olugbode. As of now, his importance is elevated.
The Tigers wrapped up the day by re-signing redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Sam Williams and redshirt freshman linebacker Brian Huff, who both played deep rotation roles in 2025.
