Mizzou basketball forward Mark Mitchell named to All-SEC second team after leading the Tigers in scoring.

COLUMBIA — Mizzou basketball senior forward Mark Mitchell has earned All-SEC honors for the second time in his career.

Mitchell was voted to the All-SEC Second team, an upgrade from his appearance on the third team in the 2024-25 season.

The team captain averaged 17.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game — each of which led Missouri — while shooting 54.7% from the field and 32.6% from 3-point range. His 17.9 points per game ranks eighth in the SEC, and he's scored 17 or more points in each of his last five games.

After scoring a career-high 32 points against Arkansas on Saturday, Razorbacks' head coach John Calipari had high praise for the senior.

"I mean, he's one of those guys in this league," Calipari said. "He should be first team all-conference. I would say my guy should be player of the year, but that's because he's my guy."

Mitchell didn't quite earn first-team all-conference, as the SEC is loaded with talented big men, but making the second team is certainly no slouch. He's the lone Tiger to earn All-SEC honors this season, despite a few valiant bids from his teammates.

Jayden Stone, a first-year transfer with the Tigers, could have made a case for newcomer of the year. Starting point guard T.O. Barrett also could have made a case for the All-Defensive team. Regardless, neither earned honors, nor did any of Mitchell's other teammates.
