Columbia, Mo. — Mizzou basketball (17-7, 7-4 in Southeastern Conference) is set to play Texas (15-9, 6-5) at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night in a pivotal game for each team's NCAA Tournament projections.
The Tigers are fresh off an upset road win over the Texas A&M Aggies in which Trent Pierce exploded for a season-high 23 points and Shawn Phillips Jr. had a game-saving sequence of an alley-oop and blocked shot.
Both Pierce and Phillips — along with the rest of the Tigers — have been on a roll as of late and will look to carry that momentum against the Longhorns tonight.
Tipoff was delayed from 7:30 to 7:50 due to a reported wreck on I-70 that delayed personnel from arriving on time.

Jayden Stone Wreaks Havoc — 14:14 remaining
Starting shooting guard Jayden Stone threw down a viscous dunk over Vokietaitis to put Mizzou up 11-7. Stone has a game-high five points at the first media timeout. Mizzou Arena is loud.
Trent Burns Scores — 10:10 remaining
Both Nick Randall and Trent Burns have played minutes. A Trent Burns tip-in makes for his first points of the game and puts Mizzou up 15-14 following a Vokietaitis bucket.
Media Timeout — 7:38 remaining
Mizzou leads 18-14 at the second media timeout. Jayden Stone and Mark Mitchell both have five points. Matas Vokietaitis leads Texas with eight. Shawn Phillips Jr. and Nick Randall both have two fouls — Randall has played just three minutes.

Mark Mitchell (12) leads the Tigers in scoring while Matas Vokietaitis (10) leads the Longhorns.
Second Half
Shawn Phillips Jr. starts the second half despite not playing the final 8:24 of the first. He's exchanged some words in a not-so-pleasant manner with opposing players and officials a few minutes into the half.
Media Timeout — 15:04 remaining
Plenty of bickering between players, coaches and referees from both sides have created a tense environment. A Randall dunk and a Simeon Wilcher backcourt violation led to a timeout, with Texas leading 41-39.
Timeout Mizzou — 11:33 remaining
Texas leads 51-47 as Dennis Gates calls timeout. Phillips picked up his fourth personal foul, while Anthony Robinson II has three of his own. Mark Mitchell and Jayden Stone are still the only Tigers to score double-digit points.
Official Review — 9:16 remaining
Anthony Robinson II picked up his fourth personal foul after colliding with Vokietaitis, although he was hit in the face by the driving Wilcher. Robinson's foul stood, but Wilcher picked up a technical foul for the contact to Robinson's head after the whistle. Texas leads 59-49 after two made Texas and Mizzou free-throws each.
Mizzou Timeout — 2:58 remaining
The Longhorns lead 77-66 with 2:58 remaining. Robinson has 11 points and is closing the game over T.O. Barrett, although Robinson and Phillips have four fouls. Mark Mitchell (16) and Jayden Stone (14) still lead the Tigers in scoring.
FINAL — TEXAS 85, MIZZOU 68
Texas held onto the double-digit lead and ended Mizzou's night in misery. Not a very happy Valentine's Day for Mizzou basketball.
The Tigers will next play Vanderbilt 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mizzou Arena.
