COLUMBIA, Mo. — Mizzou football has just one in its 2027 recruiting class, three-star Omaha quarterback Braylen Warren.
That could change in the coming months as Eli Drinkwitz and his Tigers continue to push for high-level recruits.
Four-star wide receiver Lawerence Britt has "warm" interest for Mizzou on 247sports. Rivals analyst Steve Wiltfong logged an expert prediction on Feb. 2 for the Tigers to land Britt.
Little of speculation here, but I then posted on X that Mizzou was expected to land Britt. A few minutes later, I got a notification that should skyrocket the confidence of those sharing the belief of Britt joining the Tigers.
Britt is the No. 6-ranked athlete and the No. 125-ranked player in the nation. He attends Lusanne Collegiate School in Memphis, Tennessee, and holds offers from dozens of other Power Four schools.
He has an official visit scheduled to Columbia for June 5 and unofficially visited Mizzou both Jan. 31 and Sept. 5. The Tigers were the second team to offer Britt, offering him Jan. 17, 2025.
Mizzou's wide receiver room currently holds Cayden Lee, Caleb Goodie, Kenric Lanier II, Donovan Olugbode, Shaun Terry II, DaMarion Fowlkes, Naeshaun Montgomery, Jabari Brady, Devyon Hill-Lomax.
More recently, Mizzou has jumped in the recruitment of four-star running back Myson Johnson-Cook. He attends East St. Louis High School, where former Tigers Luther Burden III and Toriano Pride Jr. attended before eventually committing to Mizzou.
Johnson-Cook is the No. 1 player in the state of Illinois and the No. 2 athlete in the nation per 247sports composite. Mizzou received an expert prediction from Wiltfong Feb. 17 to land the local star.
He rushed for 900-plus yards and 14 touchdowns in his sophomore season and will look to build upon that for his upcoming senior season. The Tigers offered Johnson Feb. 14, 2025,
Mizzou's running back room currently holds Ahmad Hardy, Jamal Roberts, Malae Fonoti, Xai'Shaun Edwards, Maxwell Warner and Preston Hatfield. Johnson-Cook would be the first running back to commit to Mizzou's 2027 class.
Both additions would make for quality skill-position additions to Mizzou's roster, bolstering the weaponry for whichever quarterback may be under center.
