Mizzou Basketball alum Sean East II will participate in the 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend. Here's checking in on how him and every other Mizzou alum in the NBA has performed this season.

Columbia, Mo. — Mizzou basketball will have one representative at 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend, as former Tiger Sean East II will play on the G League's Rising Stars team and in the G League Next Up Game.

In the Rising Stars tournament, East will play for guest coach Austin Rivers, who's roster is comprised of stars in the G League. The game will start at 8 p.m. CT Friday and will be broadcast on Peacock. Should East's team win, they will advance to the championship round at 10:35 p.m. to play the winner of team Vince vs. team T-Mac, two teams comprised of top rookie and second-year players in the association.

East is the first Mizzou alum to participate in the event since Jordan Clarkson, although Clarkson made one of the NBA rosters — East made the G League team.

East spent the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons with Mizzou, the latter of which he averaged a team-high 17.6 points per game while shooting 45% from 3-point range, grabbing 3.5 rebounds per game and dishing out 4 assists per game in addition.

East then played for the Los Angeles Lakers' summer league teams but failed to make the final roster. He spent his debut professional season with the Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League and broke the single-season scoring record. That was enough to get him back on the NBA's radar.

He has spent the entire 2025-26 season with the Salt Lake City Jazz of the NBA G League, averaging 17.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game while shooting 39.5% from 3-point range, including scoring a G League career-high 36-points against the South Bay Lakers.

Although he will be Mizzou's lone representative at All-Star weekend, here's how other former Tigers are performing in the NBA.

Michael Porter Jr.

Although Porter Jr.'s time with Mizzou was minimal — playing just three games due to battling injuries — he has undoubtedly one of the best NBA careers of any former Tiger.

Porter is in his first season with the Brooklyn Nets after spending seven seasons with Denver, and is posting career-highs across the board.

The former first round pick is averaging 25 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1 steal per game while shooting 47.4% from the field and 38.5% from 3-point range. Many considered the Nets' star to be a snub from this season's All-Star game, as Porter is one of eight players in the association to average 25 or more points per game while shooting 38% or better from deep.

The Nets currently hold the fifth-worst record in the NBA, but Porter has been a bright spot in an otherwise sore season.

Kobe Brown

Brown, who played with East during the 2022-23 season at Mizzou, is experiencing change for the first time in his professional career. The 6-foot-7 forward was traded from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Indiana Pacers at the Feb. 6 trade deadline.

He spent the first two-and-a-half seasons of his career with the Clippers, but now has a chance to play consistent minutes on a Pacers squad focused on the development of its younger players.

Brown is averaging 6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2 assists and 23.5 minutes in his first two games as a Pacer, all of which would be career-highs if he were to maintain them for the rest of the season.

The 2025-26 season is shaping up to be Brown's first season playing more than 44 games. Perhaps the former first-round pick could turn a new leaf in Indiana.

Dru Smith

Smith has battled countless injuries in his four-season NBA career, but has finally caught a break and has played a career-high 55 games in the 2025-26 season for the Miami Heat.

The former Tiger is averaging 6.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game and has become a fan-favorite among Heat fans for his hustle and tenacity.

Jordan Clarkson

Clarkson signed with the New York Knicks in the offseason in hopes of bringing his scoring prowess to a playoff-caliber team.

He's had a rough season, averaging many career-lows in the smallest role of his career. Clarkson is averaging 9.1 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 18.9 minutes per game, all of which are the lowest of his career.

There were rumblings of the former Sixth Man of the Year winner being traded or bought out at the trade deadline, but it appears the former Tiger will stay with the Knicks for the rest of the season despite expressing frustrations.

Tamar Bates and Caleb Grill

Bates and Grill, two team captains from Mizzou's 2024-25 squad, both found themselves in the NBA G League for the current season.

Bates signed a two-way contract with the Denver Nuggets shortly after the 2025 NBA Draft but did not appear in an NBA game. Instead, he has excelled in the G League, averaging 19.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 54.9% from the field, 44.1% from 3-point range and 90.3% from the free-throw line across 13 games.

However, Bates fractured his left foot and underwent surgery to repair it Dec. 22. He was originally scheduled to be re-evaluated 12 weeks from Dec. 22, which would be around March 22.

Grill signed with the Chicago Bulls' G League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls, for the 2025-26 season.

He's played 27 games for the team, averaging 10.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1 assists while shooting 40.1% from 3-point range. He erupted for a career-high 26 points against the Grand Rapids Gold, Bates' team, Thursday.

Grill has not played an NBA game, but if he continues to shoot the lights out in the G League, a late-season NBA appearance wouldn't be impossible.

D'Moi Hodge

Hodge is in his third season in the G League but his first with the Texas Legends, the G League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks. The former Tiger is averaging 9.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game while shooting 35% from 3-point range across 27 games and five starts.

He has not appeared in an NBA game.

Jeremiah Tilmon

Tilmon is in his fourth G League season, now with the Wisconsin Herd. He is averaging a career-low 5.4 points per game along with 4.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. The 27-year-old has played in 25 G League games this season.
