Nebraska football opens the 2026 campaign on Saturday.

Year four of the Rhule era kicks off with Ohio at Memorial Stadium. Here is everything you need to know, whether you're enjoying the game at home or making your way to Lincoln.

The game will be heard across the Huskers Radio Network, including on the Huskers App and at Huskers.com. Inside Memorial Stadium, the game can be heard on 87.7 FM.

First of all, good luck. Whether you're coming to Lincoln from out of town or making your way across the city to Memorial Stadium, give yourself plenty of extra time.

To put it frankly: O Street is a mess. The start of construction around Memorial Stadium hasn't made that area or parking any easier either.

Let's start with how to get to the stadium, depending on where you're coming to town from.

From the east on I-80 West

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities suggests exits 399 (Lincoln Airport) and 403 (27th Street) because they don't have any construction impacting their routes. Other options include exits 405 (56th Street) and 409 (Waverly).

Exits 401A, 401B, and 401C are closed.

From the west on I-80 East

You can continue on I-80 to those same exit suggestions for I-80 West. The best bet for getting directly to the stadium is taking the I-180 exit 401 to downtown.

Street Closures

O Street is completely closed from 13th to 16th. It is also closed on the westbound side from 11th to 13th. Elsewhere downtown, K, L, M, N and P streets all have lane closures.

StarTran is Gone

StarTran will not operate the Big Red Express shuttle service in 2026. But that doesn't mean a different one isn't available.

iPronto will operate a shuttle service from four locations around Lincoln, but plans to expand service to other cities throughout the state, including Omaha, Kearney/Grand Island and Norfolk/Columbus. Customers who wish to use the new shuttle service must make a reservation directly with iPronto.

At Memorial Stadium

While the Big Red Rebuild won't get going in full until after the season, preparations have already begun around Memorial Stadium. Construction areas may impact parking availability, walking paths, and what gates to use.

The Heat

Don't forget to bring a water.

With the higher temperatures expected for Saturday, Nebraska Athletics is allowing fans to bring one sealed bottle of water into Memorial Stadium. This is in addition to the Memorial Stadium policy that allows personal empty water bottles inside the stadium for fans to be able to refill at the water fountains inside.
