The legendary Husker brand pivots to a digital-first future, delivering expert, unfiltered analysis and local on-site reporting via an innovative platform.

The next level for Huskers Illustrated is here.

The premier brand covering the Nebraska Cornhuskers since 1980, the next iteration begins as a primarily online publication. Every article, story, column, report, and more can be found at HuskersIllustrated.com with RTB and Roundtable.

RTB provides a SaaS technology platform (software as a service) enabling major media brands to distribute, monetize, and engage with their communities within their own brand, data, and voice. Roundtable is a media brand utilizing the RTB platform, providing sports, crypto and financial news coverage, with distribution partners including Yahoo, TheStreet, MSN, Apple News and more.

Huskers Illustrated as a brand has demanded the best for nearly five decades. That doesn’t change now. HI will operate under four main pillars, with each providing the best experience for Husker fans and others who wish to read about the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Expert Analysis

Huskers Illustrated writers and contributors have covered Nebraska for decades. This includes national championships, seasons across multiple conference, coaching changes, and more. Many on this staff were in Oklahoma City last year to cover and support the Nebrasketball team, along with tens of thousands of Husker fans.

In 2026, everyone has a voice on social media. That could be simply via posts on X or Facebook, or with videos on TikTok and YouTube. We aim to provide expertise to the conversation and live up to the legacy of the Huskers Illustrated writers that have come before us.

Honest Coverage

No agendas. No spin. Just what happened in our reporting and how we see it in our opinion pieces. We’re not here to be PR for the university, but we’re not out to get anyone representing the N either.

If we disagree with a game strategy or how something was handled, we’ll be honest about it. If something goes well for the team that excites us, we’ll be honest about it. If we were wrong about something and it turns out the coaches making millions of dollars knew better than we did in that instance, we’ll be honest about it.

Local Writers

Technology has made it possible for anyone to cover most press conferences and watch games from just about anywhere in the world. That isn’t the best way to cover a team, though.

Every contributor to Huskers Illustrated lives and works in Nebraska. Many of them graduated from UNL. That means on-site coverage for press conferences and games from people who know these teams the best. We will be diligent in providing in-person coverage for every home game, with select road games getting the same treatment, if possible.

Keeping the Main Content Free

It’s no secret that Nebraska fans are spoiled by the amount of coverage their teams receive. Many who do that coverage operate solely or mostly on subscriptions. They are great at what they do, and we enjoy consuming their work, but that isn’t the way we operate.

The day-to-day Huskers Illustrated stories, reports, columns, etc. will stay free to read. Does that mean there are some more ads throughout these? Absolutely. But this ensures that everyone has the same access to our main coverage at all times.

Does this preclude potential paywalled content for the HI archives or with something akin to a Patreon tier? No. But it does make sure the everyday content is available to everyone.

Keep an eye on the Huskers Illustrated social media accounts for immediate updates on the new staff of contributors, and be sure to bookmark HuskersIllustrated.com for all of your news and coverage of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Huskers Illustrated is officially back.
