College Gameday will be in attendance when Death Valley ignites as Lane Kiffin makes his LSU home debut against Clemson.
College Gameday, the premiere college football pregame show is opening its 2026 season by letting the good times roll in Baton Rouge, La. ahead of the opening week Clemson Tigers at LSU Tigers matchup.
The destination was reported by Pete Nakos of On3.com.
The game is set for Saturday, Sept. 5 with no kickoff time yet announcend.
Ever the national interest, LSU head coach Lane Kiffin is sure to be a part of the draw for Gameday's arrival at Death Valley to start the college football season.
Kiffin recently made waves with his controversial comments tied to his seismic departure from Ole Miss. For more on his comments, LSU Roundtable writer Dylan Sanders has more.
The LSU Tigers will continue to be under a microscope all throughout the 2026 college football season following the acquisition of Kiffin as their new head football coach.
LSU and Clemson also faced off to open their season last year with this upcoming matchup completing the home-and-home exchange over the two years.
Last year, No. 9 ranked LSU visited Clemson, then ranked No. 4 to start the year and the Bayou Bengals left victorious with a 17-10 win.
The victory mercifully snapped LSU's five-year season-opening game losing streak.
This year, both programs are looking to bounce back after disappointing 2025 showings.
LSU finished their highly-anticipated year with a 7-6 record capped off by a loss to the Houston Cougars in the Texas Bowl.
Meanwhile, Clemson matched their season result with a 7-6 record and a 22-10 loss to the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Pinstripe Bowl.
With both teams underwhelming in 2025, there will certainly be fireworks as they each seek to rebound in the 2026 season opener.
