Four-star wide receiver Julius Jones Jr., son of former Irish running back Julius Jones Sr., committed to Notre Dame over Miami and Oregon.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish just landed a legacy pledge who they think will be a future playmaker, and his little brother, all in one moment.
Four-star wide receiver Julius Jones Jr. committed to the Fighting Irish on Monday, as the program lands a top-50 prospect and a headline name in their 2027 recruiting class. His brother, Andre, a four-star safety, also pledged to the 2028 class.
The announcement came live on “The Pat McAfee Show" as Jones garnered attention as No. 50 in the SC Next 300 and No. 9 in ESPN’s wide receiver rankings for 2027. He ultimately chose his legacy program over the Miami Hurricanes and Oregon Ducks.
To read more about the major grab for the Fighting Irish and his receiver profile, here is the full breakdown from Notre Dame Roundtable writer Bryan Driskell.
Jones Jr. is the son of former Notre Dame running back Julius Jones Sr., who was with the program from 1999-2003. Jones Sr. led the Fighting Irish in rushing yards in three seasons and finished with the sixth-most yards in school history with 3,018 rush yards. He was able to help sell the unique culture of Notre Dame to his son, who noted how different it felt on his visit there.
Jones Jr. is a 5-foot-10 pass catcher from three-time state champions St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, where he recorded 58 receptions for 876 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior.
Jones took official visits to both Miami and Notre Dame before ultimately choosing to follow his father’s footsteps. He now slots in as the second-ranked pledge in the 2027 class behind offensive tackle Oluwasemilore Olubobola, who is ranked No. 42 overall.
