A narrow loss to Clemson hasn't derailed Bill Belichick’s squad.

It's an interesting question, but there's a world where North Carolina could indeed make the ACC Championship Game.

The Tar Heels are off to a 2-1 start in conference play after dropping their opener at Clemson, 28-20.

This would be an entirely different conversation if the weather delay and a late Tigers rally didn't lead to an eight-point defeat for Bill Belichick and Co. in that one.

Through Week 7, UNC is lumped into a four-team melee of programs that only have one loss.

To no surprise, Miami is the only remaining undefeated team, though things could get extremely interesting when the Hurricanes come to town on Halloween.

UNC's path to a conference championship runs through Miami

Miami was recently named the No. 1 team in the nation, according to the AP Top 25, so it's crazy to think the top-ranked team could be coming to Chapel Hill, NC, on Saturday, Oct. 31.

The Hurricanes play host to Pittsburgh in Week 8, and that's a team UNC has already defeated this season, so Heisman hopeful Dariah Mensah should have no issues leading his team to victory.

That said, anything can happen in college football. UNC arguably took Notre Dame to its limit, and while they ended up losing, 37-26, that game was much closer than the final score would suggest.

After that non-conference game, UNC took care of business against a then No. 25-ranked Panthers team, and just took down Duke on the road.

With six games remaining, Belichick's schedule is quite favorable.

Is there a world where a two-loss team could make the conference championship game? Potentially, but that's far too early to predict.

Miami excluded, UNC's remaining conference opponents are all currently lower in the standings than the Tar Heels.

Making the conference championship game won't be easy, and it's far from a guarantee, but this two-game winning streak could turn into something incredible for Belichick.
