Former North Carolina Tar Heels linebacker Cedric Gray has landed in concussion protocol after he was in a vehicle accident.
Former North Carolina Tar Heels star and Tennessee Titans linebacker Cedric Gray is in concussion protocol after he was in a UTV accident over the weekend.
"[Gray] was involved in a UTV [ultra terrain vehicle] accident in Tennessee and sustained a concussion and minor injuries," the Tennessee Titans said in a statement. "We look forward to Cedric returning to the field soon and in full health when he clears the NFL’s concussion protocol."
Gray was selected in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft and has proven to be a quality linebacker for the Titans. In his rookie season, he didn't have much of a role, as he had 22 total tackles in seven games.
Gray played at a high level in the 2025 season, recording 164 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, a sack, four pass deflections, and two fumble recoveries. He is emerging as one of the best young linebackers in the league, and Gray could be a star in the 2026 season when he's healthy.
The 23-year-old is a key piece of the Titans' defense, and they hope he can get back on the field soon.
