We've seen some crazy comparisons fly around about former North Carolina star Caleb Wilson. If Wilson ends up playing as well as he did in the NBA Summer League in actual NBA games, those comparisons really might not mean a whole lot because he might be the best player in the NBA.

However, those are the type of players that Wilson was already being compared to, which I really didn't think was unfair for the young man. I'm as big of a Wilson fan as anybody else, but to compare him to guys like Kevin Garnett and Giannis Antetokounmpo, without him actually playing in a real NBA game, is a bit unfair.

That hasn't stopped Garnett from speaking about it, however, and he recently showed him some love.

“Throwback, this kid right here,” Garnett told a familiar face shortly after tipoff, per NBA.com. “He’s got a different attitude.”

My favorite part about Wilson is that he doesn't cheat the game. He understands that while he might be getting these comparisons, he has a lot to eventually learn before he can ever be compared to a player like Garnett.

“We have some similarities, but I feel like we’re much different players,” Wilson said earlier in the week about the comparison. “Kevin Garnett’s a Hall of Famer. I don’t want to be compared to a Hall of Famer because that messes up my expectations.”

“I feel like it’s important to get reps,” Wilson said. “I didn’t have to persuade [Bulls management] — we came to an agreement.”

Playing in the Summer League isn't the end all be all, but I think this goes to show the type of player Wilson is. A lot of guys decided to sit out some games, but he wanted to go out there and not only get better, but show the rest of his counterparts that he's the best player in this class.

Not that a Summer League game would have changed everything, but if I'm the Bulls, I have to feel pretty good that this kid is taking things as serious as he is this early on in his career.
