Caleb Wilson could follow in Michael Jordan's footsteps.

A new 2026 NBA mock draft has Caleb Wilson following in North Carolina Tar Heels legend Michael Jordan's footsteps.

After the Washington Wizards won the 2026 draft lottery, Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report published his new mock draft and the NBA draft analyst has Wilson going to the Chicago Bulls at No. 4.

The Bulls, of course, drafted Jordan with the third overall pick in the 1984 draft. Jordan is universally recognized as the greatest basketball player of all time. He won five MVPs, six championships, six Finals MVPs, 10 scoring titles and one Defensive Player of the Year with Chicago.

"Caleb Wilson should look like an easy plug-and-play forward for the Chicago Bulls at the 4," Wasserman wrote. "They could now have versatile, frontcourt cornerstones in Wilson and Matas Buzelis to build around.

"There are even NBA front office members who actually prefer Wilson to Cameron Boozer, whose athletic limitations have raised some skepticism. Certain scouts sound willing to bet on Wilson's open-floor ball-handling, shotmaking flashes and passing continuing to improve to complement the quickness, explosion and defensive range that Boozer lacks.

"Scouts on the fence will turn to workouts to get a better feel for Wilson's shooting stroke, which only connected on 7-of-27 threes (to Boozer's 54-of-138). Though No. 4 still seems like a safer projection, the predraft process should offer a favorable setting to sell his exciting athletic traits and shooting potential."

Wilson appeared in 24 games for UNC this season. He averaged 19.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per contest while shooting 57.8% from the field, 25.9% from beyond the arc and 71.3% from the free-throw line.

Wilson was named a second-team Associated Press All-American, a distinction that will ensure that he will be included among the honored jerseys in the Smith Center rafters.

Many draft scouts have compared Wilson to six-time NBA All-Star Jermaine O'Neal. If Wilson can have a career like O'Neal's, that would be a huge success.

The Bulls haven't made the playoffs since 2022. If they land Wilson, Chicago's rebuild will get accelerated.
