North Carolina Tar Heels star Caleb Wilson is one of the top prospects in the draft.

North Carolina Tar Heels star Caleb Wilson has established himself as one of the top prospects in the upcoming NBA Draft.

In a recent mock draft by ClutchPoints, Wilson lands with the Brooklyn Nets with the fifth overall pick. Wilson was a top-four prospect in the draft before he went down with a broken hand, with no timetable for a return.

In this mock draft, he falls to the fifth overall pick to a Nets team that is looking for a young player to build around.

Brooklyn has a ton of young talent, particularly at guard with Egor Demin, Nolan Traore, Ben Saraf, and Drake Powell.

Adding a player like Wilson, who could be a leader of this core, and at a position of need, would be a great fit for the Nets.

In 24 games this season, Wilson is averaging 19.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game. He is shooting 57.8 percent from the field and 25.9 percent from three.

He is a versatile forward on both ends of the floor, making him an intriguing prospect. Wilson's current weakness in his game is the three-point shot, as he is shooting under 26 percent on 1.1 attempts per game.

If he can develop a reliable shot from behind the arc, he would become a complete player.

However, even without the jump shot, Wilson could be impactful right away at the NBA level. If Brooklyn keeps Michael Porter Jr., his elite three-point shooting would fit well next to Wilson in the frontcourt.

North Carolina is the 16th-ranked team in the country at 20-6. The Tar Heels will look to stay afloat while Wilson is out as the NCAA Tournament nears.

North Carolina is looking to have a deeper run in March this season after falling to Ole Miss in the first round in 2025.

The Tar Heels will hope Wilson returns for their tournament run, as if he isn't on the floor, it will be difficult to make a deep run.
