The sports world on Twitter loves April fools. Here's your yearly reminder that any sort of "news" dropped today on social media could be entirely false and designed to get your goat.
But as I'm sitting here scrolling, I'm realizing that there's plenty of false stories that could really throw Northwestern fans into a tizzy. Here are a few I've come up with to watch out for:
- Nick Martinelli receives more eligibility
This one will almost surely be floating around out there. As much as we'd all love to see Nicky Buckets back in Evanston, it's impossible. Don't be fooled.
- David Braun signs five-star quarterback
He wants to compete for Big Ten titles, but we aren't there yet. Patience. Don't be fooled.
- Jack Lausch returns to football
This would be pretty funny, but it ain't happening. Don't be fooled.
These are just a few fake stories I could see circulating on Twitter today. Stay sharp. Be on your toes. April 2 will be here before you know it.
